Tata Harrier was launched in India back in January 2019.There was a lot of hype about the SUV.It was also showcased at the Auto Expo 2018.In the few early phases, it did quite well with grabbing more than 10,000 bookings in no time.
Currently, it is averaging at 1500 – 2000 units per month.And in less than 6 months, it has taken over the competition.Recently, MG Hector has been launched in India.It is a top class SUV with top notch features.It would be interesting to see how Harrier after in July 2019 in terms of sales after the launch of Hector.
On the basis of customer feedback, Tata has updated its Harrier SUV to provide customer with a better experience.So there is improvement made in a number of areas including the infotainment system which gets new R10.X software update as a result of which it would work more effectively and some small niggles reported earlier would be removed.
Along with this, steering wheel has been tuned as well.Now it has become much more softer as compared to earlier weighted one and it will help to enhance the responsiveness of the steering along with improving the driving experience of the customer.Also, clutch was a bit on the harder side but now it is tuned on a softer side for optimal response.
The 4th improvement is better NVH.Before this, slight noise used to enter the cabin which now has been reduced by improving the cabin insulation.Tata Motors India have done a great job by resolving these issues so quickly.
If you are an existing owner of Tata Harrier, then you can get these updates during the time of scheduled maintenance.Also the production of updated Harrier 2019 have begin and those who have booked their Harrier or are willing to, will get the updated one.
Tata Harrier currently gets only a single powertrain in the form of 2.0 L turbocharged Diesel engine which produces 350 NM of torque and is paired to 6 speed manual gearbox.It is not offered presently in automatic transmission which will make way to the SUV in late 2019.
It is loaded with some top class features like puddle lamps, semi digital instrument cluster, 17 inch alloys, Xenon HID projector headlamps with LED DRLs, premium leather seat upholstery, 8.8 inch touchscreen infotainment system, 9 JBL speakers with amplifier, shark Finn antenna, push start stop button with keyless entry, fully automated AC and auto foldable ORVMs.
Safety features includes 6 Airbags, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Management, ISOFIX, Roll Over Mitigation, Corner Stability Control, Electronic Traction Control and Hydraulic Brake Assist.
Recently, it also got dual tone colour options which were introduced in top end XZ model.Also, it got a price hike before the launch of MG Hector with new prices beginning from Rs. 13 Lakhs (Ex Showroom).
Tata is also going to bring 7 seater version of Harrier in the form of Buzzard which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show.It will be slightly premium than standard Harrier with longer dimensions and more features.Launch is slated for late 2019.
