Tata Motors will soon launch the facelift update for the Compact crossover SUV, Harrier, which will see it getting some big changes over the current version that’s on sale. But why don’t we compare the current Harrier against the upcoming Harrier Facelift to find out what’s the major difference between the two!
The Current Harrier has LED DRLs and round-blocks on the grille with chrome line around the grille and LED DRLs that gives a spreaded-V look. Below that is the LED headlamps and fog lamps below it with chrome line around the outer side of the fog lamps, and at the bottom center of the grille, it has radar for ADAS, which you’re not able to see in the above image, but it is present in the updated variant. Moving to the side, it has simple look with wheel arches and rides on the 18-inch alloy wheels. It has chrome lining at the top and bottom window frame, and door handles finished in chrome. As for the rear it has sleek LED tail lamps with small spoiler on the roof.
In the upcoming facelift, the Harrier has gone through some exterior changes such as the front fascia as been changed completely with changes to the grille, bumpers, and headlamps. A full-width LED strip is above the grille that spans across the front body, an significant features of the Curvv concept. The side profile of the Harrier will likely be same except it may sport new alloy wheel design. Moving to the rear, changes extend to the bumpers, skid plate, and wrap-around signature connected LED taillamp.
The Current Harrier has the 10.25-inch infotainment system above the AC vents and at the sides it has horizontally positioned AC vent. The Harrier has the dual-tone dashboard option. It has multi-function three-spoke steering wheel with digital instrument cluster, and a huge panoramic sunroof. It has two USB ports at the front, two in second row, and two in the third row. It has drive modes selector in front of gear lever, electric parking brake with auto hold, and buttons for the ventilated seats at the side of the seat. The third row has a 40:60 split seat and second row has 60:40 split seats.
The interior have undergone changes as well as it will be getting the new 12.3-inch infotainment system that will be thinner, sharper and smoother than the outgoing version, new Steptronic Gear shifter, rotary dial for the drive mode, digital display on the four-spoke steering wheel that illuminates Tata logo in the center, and control the new configurable 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that can display navigation maps, touch-sensitive screen on the center console for climate control, and ambient lighting on the dashboard, around sunroof, and doors.

When it comes to Engine Options, the Old Harrier was available only with one powertrain, and that is the 2.0 L 4 Cylinder Turbocharged Diesel Engine producing 167.67 BHP and 350 NM mated to 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox.
However, the upcoming Harrier Facelift will not only sport the turbocharged diesel engine, but will be getting a new 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Turbocharged Petrol engine generating 170 BHP and 280 NM of torque mated to 6 Speed Manual, and 7 Speed DCT Gearbox.
The current Tata Harrier comes with features such as front ventilated seats, 10.25-inch infotainment system with Wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, Air Purifier, Voice Commands, automatic climate control, Panoramic Sunroof, Ambient lighting, digital instrument cluster, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED Projector headlamps, 9-speaker JBL Premium sound system, 6-way powered adjustable driver seat, wireless charging, cooled glovebox, and auto-dimming IRVM.
In Safety, it gets Six Airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control, Hill Assist, Hill Descent Control, Disc Brakes on all 4 wheels, TPMS, Automatic headlamps, 360-degree camera with rear parking sensors, and Level 1 ADAS with features such as Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Alert, Door Open Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Collision Warning.
In the Facelift, the features list will extend like the Multi-color Ambient lightings, powered tailgate with gesture opening, dual zone, electric parking brake with auto hold function, 4-way powered seats for co-passenger, and in safety, it’ll get front parking sensors, and Level 2 ADAS features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and many more.
The Current Tata Harrier starts at Rs.15.20 lakh for the base variant ‘XE’, and goes up to Rs. 24.27 lakh for the top variant, ‘XZA+ (O) Red Dark Edition Automatic.’ As for the Facelift, it is expected to be little high around Rs. 30,000 – Rs. 50,000 for the entry-level variant, and possibly could start around at Rs. 15.70 lakh.
