Tata Motors revealed the January 2024 Sales and it reports 84,276 units with year-on-year growth by 6%, and incredible year-on-yer growth in the EV category by 69%.
Tata Motors Sales: What you need to know!
Let’s dive into the passenger vehicle sales first. Tata Motors did domestic sales of 53,633 units in January 2024, and this sales figure also includes electric vehicle line-up which includes – Tigor EV, Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV. Soon to be joining the list is the Harrier EV, Safari EV, and Curvv EV that are coming by next year. Additionally, the domestic sales reports growth in year-on-year sales by 12% compared to 47,987 units in January 2023.

Exports however, reports decline by big margin. The exports in January 2024 were only 400 units which is up by 32% against the 302 units in January 2023. This takes the total passenger vehicles sales to 54,033 units which is up by 12% compared to 48,289 units in Jan. 2023. Electric vehicles sales which includes exports and domestic sales figures are also improving significantly as it reports 6,979 units in Jan. 2023 which is up by 69% which is massive for Tata compared to the 4,133 units last year.
It’s time to dive in the Commercial Sales now. The Commercial Sales performance are also up with Tata Motors reporting 6% growth from 32,780 units last year to 32,092 units in January 2024. The demand for the HCV trucks has gone down 8,906 units in January 2024 which is decline by 11% compared to 9,994 units in Jan. 2023.
The ILMCV Sales 0.2% year-on-year drop in sales from 4,755 units last year to 4,743 units in January 2024. The Passenger Carriers sales are also up by huge 36% from 2,851 units last year to 3,872 units in January 2024. The SCV Cargo and Pickup Sales are however down by 7% year-on-year to 13,122 units, The Commercial Vehicles Exports are also up to 33% year-on-year from 1,086 units last year from 1,449 units shipped in Jan. 2024.
