Details about the incident

As mentioned above, the MG Comet is launched at Rs 8L whereas the Tata Tiago EV is priced at Rs 9L so there is quite a battle going on, on social media because if we have a detailed look at the MG Comet dimensions,  you might consider it as a Tata Nano with better looks, way better features, and better interior quality. So in the people’s opinion, why would anyone go for something impractical as MG Comet and not consider the Tata Tiago EV, which has decent interior quality, decent features, and tons of bootspace? Tata Tiago EV can also be used on highways whereas the MG Comet has a smaller wheel size and is heightened than the Tata Tiago which leads to an uncontrollable body roll. Now, after all this, MG fans are not happy with whatever the people’s opinion is so they had made a meme where it can be seen that the Tata Tiago is being trolled. Some of the memes say “Haters Gonna Hate” above the silhouette of Tata Tiago and above the MG Comet it says “Just Overtake”, there are other pictures too where it mocks the Tata Tiago by naming it “Old School” and “Taxi”. Now, after all this, there was a meme released by Tata fanboys too, where the MG Comet is mentioned as a “Cartoon” and Tata Tiago A car. Soon after that, Tata released a statement where they mentioned that “We have noticed that an image is under circulation on WhatsApp and several social media platforms, that showcases our vehicle and another OEM’s recently launched product in a distasteful manner. We have received several queries about it and take this opportunity to categorically affirm that this image is not created or distributed by us. We have also advised our channel partners to refrain from engaging with it in any manner. Tata Motors is governed by a robust code of conduct and follows ethical business practices.”
