Tata Nexon BS6 Petrol Engine Gets More Powerful than Before

Tata Nexon Petrol Engine now gets more powerful while the output figures of diesel powertrain remains unchanged

Tata Motors have recently launched the facelifted variant of Nexon compact SUV with BS6 compliant 1.2 Revotron and 1.5 Revotorq Diesel engines.Now the domestic carmakers have silently updated their 3 cylinder petrol mill with 10 BHP more power than how much it earlier used to produce.Now it churns out 118 BHP @ 5500 RPM and 170 NM @ 1750 – 4000 RPM of peak torque.

The 1.2 L Petrol engine continues to send power to 6 speed manual and 6 speed AMT transmission option.With more power, Nexon petrol engines matches Venue’s 1.0 GDI turbo petrol unit with figures of 118 BHP and 172 NM of torque and Ecosport with power and torque figures of 121 BHP and 150 NM.Also now Nexon Petrol makes more power than XUV300 (110 BHP and 200 NM).However the compact SUV will be getting a much more powerful T-GDI mStallion engine with figures of 130 BHP and 230 NM which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 in the form of XUV300 Sportz Edition.

The engine specifications of the diesel trims remains unchanged with the 1.5 litre 4 cylinder Revotroq unit making 110 BHP and 260 NM of maximum torque.It gets paired with 6 Speed Manual and 6 Speed Automatic gearbox variants.

The price of Tata Nexon BS6 remains unchanged with the power figures of Nexon petrol going up.Nexon Petrol prices ranges between Rs. 6.95 Lakhs and Rs. 11.20 Lakhs while the diesel variants falls in the price bracket of 8.45 Lakhs and Rs. 12.70 Lakhs (All Prices, Ex Showroom).

With the recently launched facelift, Tata Nexon got host of cosmetic changes inside out and a number of new features like all digital instrument cluster, tyre pressure monitoring system, connected car technology, electric sunroof among others have been added as well.

Tata Motors India have launched a couple of new and facelift products including Tiago facelift, Tigor Facelift, Tata Altroz, Tata Nexon Facelift, Harrier BS6 and are receiving quite a good response in the market.The carmakers will not stop here as they have plans to introduce many more models in the coming months which were showcased at Auto Expo 2020 including Tata Gravitas, Altroz EV and HBX.
