Tata recently updated the Nexon with two new variants – Smart(O) and Smart+ for both Petrol and Diesel to make the SUV affordable. However, we now have another big update for the Nexon line-up.
Tata offers Nexon in 4 variants – Smart, Pure, Creative, and Fearless. The Fearless was available in 3 sub-variants – Fearless, Fearless S, and Fearless+ S; however, Tata has discontinued the Fearless S trim and the Smart trim which gets replaced by Smart(O) trim cheaper by Rs. 16,000. Now, the Fearless+ S trim is still the top-spec trim, although we would’ve loved if Tata had offer Fearless+ trim with all the features except for the Sunroof.

However, there are no changes to the pricing. So, if you’re looking to buy the Fearless variant with sunroof, you’ll have to buy the Fearless+ S variant which starts from Rs. 13.60 Lakh (Petrol) – Rs. 15 Lakh Diesel) for Manual, and if you want an Automatic, its priced at Rs. Rs. 14.80 Lakh (Petrol) and Rs. 15.60 Lakh (Diesel).
So, you might be wondering why sudden changes to the variants line-up 8 Months after its initial launch? Well, this year, Kia Sonet Facelift and Mahindra XUV3XO had launched with insane amount of features which are missing on the Nexon with the pricing around the same. Thus, they become a potential threat to the Nexon which has been dominating the SUV Segment in India except for the recent drop in sales. With this move, they hope to position themselves back on top, while watching other SUVs struggle.
Tata Nexon is powered by 2 Engine Options – 1.2 L Turbo Petrol and 1.5 L Diesel Engine. The available transmission options are 5 Speed Manual (Petrol only), 6 Speed Manual and Automatic (with Petrol and Diesel), and 6 Speed DCT Gearbox only (Petrol only). It comes with features such as ventilated front seats, 360 Surround View Camera, Wireless Charging Pad, Dual 10.25-inch Displays, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Auto Climate Control, Cooled Glovebox, Sequential Indicators, and so on.
Tata Nexon currently is priced between Rs. 7.99 – Rs. 15.60 Lakhs.
