Tata Punch Facelift has been spotted in India undergoing tests giving us out first look at the Exter-rivaling SUV. However, it’s worth adding that the launch as confirmed by the Tata is still plan for 2025.
On first glance, the Facelift looks exactly the same as the electric version (launched in January 2024) like the same bonnet line, split headlamps arrangement, and bumper design. The SUV aligns with the Tata’s new design language as seen in models such as the Nexon, Harrier, and the Safari. However, the Punch Facelift will differentiate itself from the EV counterpart following similar pattern to the Nexon and its EV counterpart.

For example, it may not get connected LED Light bar at the front, and the lower bumper may be revised to differentiate the both versions. Other than that, the SUV looks the same electric version except for the alloy wheels which are sporting new design. Jumping to the inside, the Punch Facelift will bear resemblance to the Punch EV like 10.25-inch Infotainment and Digital Cockpit Cluster, new 2-spoke steering wheel, and so much more. But like the Nexon and its EV version, the Punch Facelift will likely not receive various features such as Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, All Wheels Disc Brakes, LED DRLs with Welcome and Goodbye animation, OTA Updates, etc. But mostly, it’ll get a major upgrade over the current ICE version thats on sale.Coming to Engine Options, the Facelift will retain the 1.2 L 3 Cylinder Petrol Engine producing 86.63 BHP and 115 NM of torque mated to 5 Speed MT and Automatic (AMT) Gearbox. The other is the 1.2 L CNG producing 72.41 BHP and 103 NM of torque mated to 5 Speed Manual Gearbox but its possible that during the facelift launch, Tata will offer the 5 Speed Automatic (AMT) Gearbox Option. The SUV is due for the 2025 Launch but it’s turning out to be a faster growing segment in India since its launch in 2021. So far, the Hyundai Exter and the Citroen C3 joined the list but in 2026, Maruti will be joining the list with their codenamed “Y43” SUV.
