Tata Tiago NRG has been officially launched today in India with a introductory price of Rs. 5.50 Lakhs for the petrol unit(Price,Ex-Showroom,Delhi).Tiago NRG which is more of a rugged version of Tiago hatchback,has been described by Tata as an urban toughroader.Tata Tiago NRG which compares with Celerio X and Freestyle looks identical to the Tiago hatchback but with some add-on features.
Given the addition of certain elements on exterior front not only it is slightly longer,wider and taller than Tiago but also has an increased ground clearance of 180 mm from 170 mm of Tiago.
A full body kit in black colour includes front and rear bumpers along faux scuff plates.Certain other elements have been offered in a black flavour like black roof and roof rails, black ORVMs, black door handles and also the font grille is also black without any chrome accents adds to the rugged and sportiness of the car.
Black cladding around the bumpers,skid plates and wheel arches adds to the stylish nature of the NRG.NRG sits on newly designed Dual tone 4-spoke Alloys.
Moving to the interior,it features Black interiors with canyon orange stitching and with orange accents on dash and around A/C vents.Tiago NRG is the lone variant of Tiago to get a 5-inch touchscreen Infotainment system with 8 speaker Harman sound system with navigation along with 3D maps.
Tiago NRG is based on the top of the line variant of Tiago which means it gets features like electrically adjustable ORVM, steering mounted controls, rear parking sensors, cooled glove box and much more.
Tata Tiago NRG is available in a total of 3 colour paints – Malabar silver, Canyon orange and Fuji white.
In terms of engine options,it gets the same 1.2-litre petrol unit with 84 bhp and 114 nm of peak torque while the 3-cylinder 1.05-litre diesel engine produces 69 bhp and 140 nm of peak torque.Both these engines are paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and has been tuned for tough road capability.
The Safety features which are offered on NRG includes Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD, Reverse parking Assist, Follow me home headlamps, Smart rear wipers and Driver seatbelt reminder.
The Price of Tiago NRG petrol is Rs. 5.50 Lakhs while the diesel Tiago NRG costs Rs. 6.32 lakhs(Prices,Ex-Showroom,Delhi).It rivals the Celerio X and Ford Freestyle.
