Well, they aim to make 2024 even bigger with the exciting launches planned which should message to its rivals, that they aren’t playing around any more, they’re here to dominate. So, here we’ve listed 9 Cars launches taking place in 2024 with all details that you should be aware off, and prepare for it.
Tata Punch EV (Expected: January 2024)
Very recently the Punch.ev was spied with the test mule featuring updated design similar to the Nexon.ev like connected LED DRLs, split LED headlamps, straight line lower grille pattern. The Side profile largely remains the same, except for the new aero-efficient 5-spoke alloy wheel design to help increase the range. Moving to the rear, the taillamps will be slightly tweaked to differentiate from ICE version.
Earlier Spy Shots of the Punch.ev had revealed updated interiors over the ICE version like the new 10.25-inch Infotainment System, two-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the Nexon.ev which has a display that illuminates the Tata logo, rotary dial as gear shifters, and it’s possible it’ll get digital instrument cluster or a redesigned instrument cluster that displays EV-related information. Apart from this, the EV was said to be seen with a electronic parking brake and could be exclusive to top variant.
In Features, it’ll come with automatic climate control, 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Wireless Charging Pad, Voice-activated electric sunroof, LED headlamps, and many more. Tata Harrier and Safari EV (Expected: Mid 2024)
Tata Motors few weeks ago launched the ICE Harrier and Safari Facelift, and the design changes they made were inspired directly from their own concept SUV, Curvv. But now their EV is expected to launch soon in 2024. Notably, Tata both the EV will come with 4×4 capability, which the recent revealed ICE Harrier and Safari Facelift isn’t having that. At the Auto Expo 2023, the EV design was similar to the ICE version like the connected S-style LED taillamps. The front face was covered with body-coloured element that had lines on it, and different alloy wheel design for improved aerodynamic efficiency.
The interiors will be the same as the ICE version such as the 12.3-inch infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, four-spoke steering wheel with Tata logo illumination display, touch-sensitive controls for climate control, panoramic sunroof, and more. It could sport single motor setup for either Rear-Wheel-Drive or Front-Wheel-Drive Type, or twin motor setup enabling All-Wheel-Drive which could be good for 4×4. We can expect it to have range of 500+ KMs with a battery pack of 50 – 60 kWh.
We expect the price to start from Rs. 20 L for the Harrier EV and Rs. 22 Lakh for the Safari EV.
Tata Safari and Harrier Petrol (Expected: Early – Mid 2024)
Tata Motors showcased the 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Turbo Petrol engine at the Auto Expo 2023 which produced 167.67 BHP and 280 NM of torque. The expected options of Transmission could be the 6 Speed Manual, and 7 Speed DCT Transmission. A Petrol option benefits the customers, and the Tata Motors. The Harrier range starts from Rs. 15.49 Lakh for Manual, Automatic variants start at Rs. 19.99 Lakh, Sunroof Variants start at Rs. 18.69 Lakh, and the ADAS variant starts at Rs. 21.69 Lakh.
The Safari on the other hand, starts at Rs. 16.19 Lakh for Manual, Automatic at Rs. 20.69 Lakh, Sunroof at Rs. 19.39 Lakh, and Rs. 22.49 Lakh for the ADAS variant. With the launch of the Turbo Petrol engine, the SUV could become even more affordable by Rs. 1 Lakh making it accessible to wider audience. It’s rivals like the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector all has more sales than the Harrier/Safari because of the fuel options.
Tata Nexon CNG (Expected: Mid 2024)
Tata is looking to expand the options of powertrains of the Nexon. Few days after launch, a graphic error on the Nexon EV digital cluster showed the CNG fuel gauge which basically confirm the presence of the Nexon CNG, and while the CNG test mules are yet to be seen, Tata may soon begin the testing the CNG version of the Nexon in 2024. We expect the CNG option to be offered till the Fearless trim, and as for the launch, we can expect mid 2024 launch.
Tata Altroz Racer (Expected: Mid-to-Late 2024)
Tata Altroz Racer was spotted few weeks ago testing, and here’s what we know. The vehicle was fully wrapped in camouflage, concealing any external branding or markings that might directly indicate it as the Altroz Racer. However, a handwritten ‘Racer’ label on the engine is a noteworthy detail that doesn’t appear to be a mere coincidence. Moreover, the vehicle’s interior revealed the presence of a 6-speed gearbox.
The Altroz Racer at the Auto Expo 2023 was equipped with a 1.2 L 3 Cylinder Turbo Petrol engine, which produces an impressive 118.35 BHP and 170 NM of torque. However, the standard Altroz comes with a 1.2 L 3 Cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 108.49 BHP and 140 NM. The Racer variant, with its extra 10 HP and 30 NM of torque, promises to have a significant impact on the overall driving experience, and possibly achieve 0 – 100 KMPH acceleration in less than 10 seconds.
The Altroz Racer will come with features like ventilated seats, 10.25-inch infotainment system, 7-inch digital instrument cluster showcased at the Auto Expo 2023, though Tata may change their minds and instead offer the 10.25-inch Digital Cluster with navigation maps similar to the ones seen on Nexon, Harrier and Safari.
While Tata is yet to make an official formal announcement on the hot hatch, it’s possible Tata might be taking an extra time and make changes to its design, and launch a facelift of the standard Altroz, and then alongside launch the Racer version. The Altroz Racer will compete with the recently facelifted Hyundai i20 N-Line in the hot hatch segment.
