Tata Electric unveiled it’s new electric SUV, the Harrier EV, and it’s set to launch in the late 2024, probably between October and November 2024. The new Harrier EV marks Tata’s foray into electric vehicles, built on the innovative Acti.ev architecture, previously introduced with the Punch EV. Positioned below the upcoming Safari EV in Tata’s lineup, the Harrier EV boasts an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) drivetrain. Scheduled for a late 2024 launch, likely between October and November, Tata claims the EV will offer an impressive range of 500+ kilometers on a single charge.

Retaining most design elements from the concept showcased at the January 2023 Auto Expo, the Harrier EV features a closed front grille with four horizontal lines, faux skid plates front and rear, connected LED DRLs, and vertically-split LED projector headlamps. Notable additions include new 19-inch alloy wheels and EV badging, while the rear maintains the S-shape LED tail-lamps and carbon black bumper.The interior is expected to mirror the ICE Harrier, featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment system, touch-sensitive HVAC controls, a 4-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo, and a 10.25-inch digital cockpit cluster. The center console houses drive shift and drive mode controls, along with an electric parking brake and cupholders.While technical specifications are yet to be disclosed, the Harrier EV is anticipated to measure around 4.6 meters in length with a 2741 mm wheelbase. Built on the Acti.ev platform, it’s likely to sport a 50-55 kWh battery pack with a single motor for front-wheel drive (FWD) and dual motors for All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) capability.Tata assures that the version showcased at the BME 2024 is production-ready, with ongoing testing ahead of its launch.
