The IPL season has just started with the third match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) and Tata Tiago EV already has a dent on it’s door.
Tata Tiago EV – How did the EV get that dent?
The third between CSK vs LSG was underway in MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Opening Batsman, Ruturaj Gaikwad hit a six that went flying over the covers and hit the Tiago EV that left a dent on it. People started sharing this on the social media as the dented car goes viral over the Internet.
The six by Ruturaj Gaikwad that went flying to hit the Tiago EV is loved by many fans, but the dent also means that Tata Motors will now donate Rs. 5 lakhs to biodiversity of coffee plantations in Karnataka by planting saplings for more greenery. Tata Motors, who is the sponsor of this season, had announced that every time the ball hits the Tiago EV, which is on display in all the 12 stadiums where the matches will take place, it will donate Rs. 5 lakh.
Tata Motors wants to promote the EV’s and through the IPL, it can generate a bit more sales for the electric vehicles. Tata has various initiatives going and one of them is the ‘100 reasons to go .ev with Tiago EV’ which understands the barriers people face when they think to buy an electric vehicle. The Tata Tiago, however, starts at Rs. 9.05 lakh for the entry-level XE Base variant and goes all the way up to Rs. 12.59 lakh for the top variant ‘XZ Plus Tech LUX Fast Charge.’
