Maruti Brezza returns to the top as the best-selling SUV of July 2023 while the Hyundai Creta drops to 2nd position with a big margin in sales between the two.

The month of July 2023 was another great month for the SUV sales with many carmakers reporting positive numbers for the SUVs over the last year. But out of the top 10 SUVs in July 2023, Maruti Brezza continues to dominate the SUV segment with big numbers.

Topping the list is the Maruti Suzuki Brezza with 16,543 units marking it as the best-selling SUV in the July 2023. It reported year-on-year growth by 70.39% against the 9,709 units last year when it was known as Vitara Brezza. At 2nd position is the Hyundai Creta with 14,062 units over the 12,625 units in July 2022 with 11.38% year-on-year growth. Hyundai Motors is currently testing the facelift of the SUV, and is expected to launch in February 2024. The Fronx last month finished at 3rd position and reported 13,220 units and since it launched in April 2023, it had no sales last year.

 Tata Nexon took the 4th position with 12,349 units as it also reports decline in sales by 13.12%. Tata Motors is working on launching the Nexon Facelift later this month, and introduce some new features that’ll hopefully help them regain and keep a hold on the 1st position. Tata Punch meanwhile finished at 5th position with 12,019 unit and 9.19% year-on-year growth. Tata recently launched the ICNG version of the Punch with added features like sunroof, and also updated Petrol variant with features like Tyre-Pressure Monitoring System, Front Seat Armrest, USB type A and C Charging Port at front and USB Type A at rear, etc.

Up next is the Mahindra Scorpio which is a combine sales figures of Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic, reports sales of 10,522 units with a year-on-year growth by 176.68% over the 3,803 unit in July 2022. At 7th position is the Hyundai Venue that got facelift update last year perform good in sales in July 2023 with 10,062 units which is decline is sales by 16.15% year-on-year over the 12,000 units in July 2022. At 8th and 9th position is the ADAS equipped Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Those two SUVs did 9,740 unit, and 9,079 units respectively, and at last position is the new Hyundai Exter with 7,000 units in sales. In total, the SUV sales account to 1,14,596 units which is 59.38% year-on-year growth, and volume growth is by 42,697 units.
