After Kona, Hyundai will be bringing 2nd generation Grand i10 to India in August 2019.Here are some of the things you need to know of Grand i10 2019 including interior, exterior changes, features updates as well as expected price and launch date.
Grand i10 will get a refreshed exterior design.Upfront, it will get new sweptback headlamps while some upgrades will be made on the front grille as well including triangular shaped fog lamps.Front fascia will be quite similar to upcoming Elantra which is lasted to launch in India next year.Sharp creases will flow along the sides and it will ride on next stylish 15-inch diamond cut alloys.The tail lamps will be much bigger in size.
Overall, it would get sharp exterior styling and will be based on all new light and rigid platform to meet the upcoming safety norms.
It is inside the cabin where a host of changes are expected.A lot of elements will be derived from recently introduced Venue.The steering wheel as well as instrument cluster will be similar to the compact SUV.It will get a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which will support all the modern connectivity options.Blue Link also might make way to new Grand i10.
The seats would be much larger in size while the power windows controls will be near the gearbox like Santro.It will get dual tone seat upholstery as well.These required changes will make the interiors of Grand i10 more posh and premium.
More features including class leading feature of wireless charging will make way to Grand i10.It gets adjustable headrest for front passengers, blue link, new infotainment alloys, newly designed alloys.New safety equipments includes high speed alert system, speed sensitive automatic door locks and front seatbelts with pretensioner and load limiter.
The engine options will be carried over from the present generation Grand i10.However, for new Grand i10 they would be BS-VI compliant.It would get 1.2 L petrol and Diesel engine options.The petrol engine makes 114 NM of torque while the diesel unit makes 190 NM of peak torque.
The petrol engine which is paired to 5 speed manual and 4 speed torque converter will be replaced by AMT which was recently introduced in Santro.A diesel AMT would boost up the sales of Grand i10.
New Grand i10 will be slightly pricier than the ongoing model.While the petrol variants will be around 20,000 costlier, the diesel models are expected to be 50,000 – 60,000 dearer than the ongoing model.
Grand i10 2019 will be launched in India on August 20.Upon launch, it will take on the likes of Ford Figo, Maruti Swift, Tata Tiago and Maruti Ignis.
Hyundai Grand i10 has won ICOTY 2014 and has been able to churn out per month sales of 8K – 10K.But from the past few months, the sales numbers have seen slight decline which surely the new version will grab up.
