While we know Toyota’s Full-Size SUV, Fortuner is set to receive new generation update which will get all the missing features that it should have already had given the size and price of it. Well, nevertheless, it’s was about the time it got one update. Anyway, let’s compare the newer version SUV against the older SUV and see how changes we can expect!
The next-gen Toyota Fortuner will undergo big exterior changes over the current version that’s on sale like it’ll get new front face not like the one the Legender or standard Fortuner, but its expected to sport a semi-hexagon shape grille with horizontal slats on it and new sharper looking tri-cube LED headlights with thinner and sleeker looking dual LED DRLs aligned with the headlamp unit.
The side profile will most likely look the retain the same shape as before, but it may sport new set of alloy wheels which could be of size between 19 and 20-inches since the current version has only 18-inch wheels while rivals are closing to 19 and 20-inches. Moving to the rear, it’s likely the current Fortuner has wing-like tail-lamps, however, with the new version, we could see Toyota slightly tweaked the design of tail-lamps and add a light bar to give it a connected look.
Moreover, bumpers both the front and the rear will be revised over the current versions. From the inside, while it’s available in 7-Seater form only, we may get the Captain Seats in the new version, possibly the Ottoman Seats from the HyCross. Moreover, the cabin could take design elements from the HyCross itself to make it more premium and luxurious than the current outdated cabin.

With the current version, Toyota doesn’t offer the Fortuner with the mild-hybrid and neither the Petrol engine gets the 4-Wheel-Drive (4WD) option, however, this will change when the new generation Fortuner debuts with the Mild-Hybrid System for both the Diesel and Petrol as well as the Petrol may finally get the 4-Wheel-Drive (4WD) System.

New Fortuner will bring in a lot of new features which has been missing with the current Fortuner for a very long time, and so we expect the price to start from Rs. 35 lakhs to Rs. 53 Lakhs which is Rs. 1.56 – Rs. 1.57 Lakh price increase over the current version.
Before Toyota launches the new-generation Fortuner in India, they’ll be updating the SUV with new Mild-Hybrid Trims along with some features. New-Generation Fortuner is expected to launch in first half of 2025.
