Toyota Fortuner to get Big Updates before New Gen launch in India next year?

Toyota Fortuner Gets New Features in Thailand Updates Coming to India
Toyota updated the three variants of Fortuner.

Toyota updated the Fortuner in Thailand and these updates are related to comfort and convenience, safety, and tech upgrades.

The Toyota Fortuner gets a new update in Thailand across its three variants – Fortuner Leader, GR Sport, and the Legender. The updates Toyota introduced are either common to the three variants, or exclusive to each variants.

Toyota Fortuner Updated – What you need to know!

Toyota Fortuner is one of the best-selling SUV across the Asian and South American region, and today it has received some updates. The Fortuner GR Sport gets exclusive performance boost, while the Leader and Legender continue with the same engine option. The Legender and GR Sport gets new features like 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, and tyre pressure monitoring system as safety feature. The base variant of Leader now comes with wireless charging pad.

Toyota also equipped the GR Sport with Toyota Safety Sense Suite with features like the Collision Avoidance, Lane Watch, and Lane Change Assist. The Leader includes features like the RCTA Reversing Warning SYstem, Blind Spot Warning, and 360-degree camera. Toyota has upgraded the suspension set-up of the Legender and GR Sport to enjoy smoother rides and have better control while driving. The GR Sport gets monotube shock absorbers that improves performance while reducing the vibrations. The Legender gets the same benefit as well.

Other updates includes new accessories such as aluminum accelerator and brakes, smart key, and red brake callipers for the GR Sport. Toyota keeping in mind that the GR Sport owners are performance lovers, and therefore it has offered the GR Sport with a new tuned 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine producing 220 bhp and 550 Nm of torque mated to 6-speed Automatic Gearbox with switchable part 4WD system. Earlier, the power output of this engine was 201.20 bhp and 500 Nm of torque with same Gearbox option.

The Legender on the other hand will be receiving the 2.8-litre engine as well, although it’ll have the option for the 2.4-litre engine producing 148 bhp and 400 Nm of torque, with 2WD and 4WD options. The Leader will come wit 2.4-litre engine only, and will also consist of the 2WD and 4WD option. There are no color options or exterior changes, and its unlikely the interior is changed.
