It’s time when we compare the two Toyota’s most talked car by people, Fortuner and the Fortuner Legender. Both are powered by diesel engines only and so let’s take a look at their dimensions, features, engines options, and price difference.
While it may share the same platform, dimensions, and other things, the only difference that everyone will be able to notice is the appearance of both the cars. The front of the Legender is completely changed with split grille and new designed LED headlamps and DRLs. The Fortuner, however, gets a different as well with redesigned front grille, new 18-inch alloys, the front bumper and LED headlamps are restyled, and the LED taillamps are thinner. Then there is one color difference between these two is the dual-color option. The Legender has the dual-color option but not the Fortuner, unfortunately.
When it comes to the interiors, there is no massive change as Toyota didn’t introduced any. It does have an 8-inch touchscreen Infotainment system at the center with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but the difference that can be made between the Fortuner and the Legender is the color theme. You can have the Fortuner with all-black or chamois interior theme, whereas with the Legender, you get only Black and Maroon theme.

As you can take a look at the comparison between the Toyota’s Fortuner, and Fortuner Legender, they both have the same dimensions. Both the cars has a length of 4795mm, 1855mm is the width, and 1835mm in the height. Both of them has a wheelbase of 2745mm and ground clearance of 225mm. Both the Fortuner and the Fortuner Legender has a fuel tank capacity of 80 Litres that could range of 800km. The Toyota Fortuner has two diesel and one petrol engine on offer. It uses the 2.8-litre diesel engine that puts out 201 bhp and 500 Nm of torque paired to 6-speed iMT Transmission or 6-speed Sequential Shift Automatic Transmission. The second diesel is the same 2.8-litre diesel engine with 201 bhp except it has 420 Nm of torque paired to the same transmissions. Both the diesel engines has a fuel efficiency of 8 km/l and can go from 0 – 100 kmph in around 10 seconds
Then, there is the 2.7-litre petrol engine that puts out 163 bhp and 245 Nm of torque paired to 5-speed Manual Transmission or 6-speed Sequential Shift Automatic Transmission and provides with a fuel efficiency of 10 km/l. It can go from 0 – 100 kmph in around 13 seconds at a top speed of 190 kmph.

The Toyota Fortuner Legender has only one diesel engine on offer and no petrol engine. It has the same 2.8-litre diesel that pumps out 201 bhp and 500 Nm of torque paired to an 6-speed iMT Transmission, or 6-speed Sequential Shift Automatic Transmission with a fuel efficiency of 8 km/l and can go from 0 – 100 kmph in less than 10 seconds at a top speed of 190+ kmph.
The Fortuner and the Fortuner Legender both have features such as ventilated seats, automatic climate control, wireless charging, hands-free tail-gate, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Recently, Toyota had discontinued JBL’s Premium 11-speaker sound system and replaced it with the standard 6-speaker sound system across all the variants for both the Fortuner and the Fortuner Legender. In safety, both have 7-airbags as standard across all variants, height adjustable seats, ABS with EBD, traction controls, VSC, hill assist, hill descent, and ISOFIX anchorages. The missing feature that both the cars don’t get is the 360-degree camera.
