With 2023 almost over in few days, Toyota isn’t going to launch new cars. However, for 2024, Toyota is very confident with what they’ve been working on as they plan to launch as many as 5 new cars for the Indian Marker which is either a rebadge or facelift update. In this article, we’ve going to cover everything we know about these 5 new Toyota Cars expected to launch in 2024!
Toyota was expected to launch the Fronx-based SUV in November 2023 just before the festive season, but since that didn’t happen, we expect Toyota to do launch in early 2024. As for the exterior design, we expect it have front change inspired from either the Hyryder, or it could take some design elements from the Glanza. The Interiors however will just be logo and software change and nothing else.
In terms of Dimensions, the Toyota Taisor will measure the same as the Maruti Fronx, i.e, 3995mm in length, 1765mm in width, and 1550mm in height. It’ll feature wheelbase of 2520mm, ground clearance of 190mm, boot space of 308 litres, and Petrol Fuel Tank of 37 litres and Single CNG Cylinder of 55 litres. In Engine Options, the Taisor should have three options – 1.2 L Petrol paired to 5 Speed MT / AMT, 1.0 L Turbo Petrol mated to 5 Speed MT, 6 Speed AT, and 1.2 L CNG mated to 5 Speed MT Gearbox only.
In Features, the Taisor will come with features like LED Projector headlamps, LED taillamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, 9-inch infotainment system with Wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, wireless charging pad, 6-speaker Arkamy’s sound system, height adjustable driver seat, and more. Safety features include six airbags, 360 Surround View camera with rear parking sensors, automatic headlamps, heads-up display, Cruise Control, Traction Control, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Assist, ISOFIX anchorages, and Front Disc Brakes.
Lastly, the Urban Cruiser Taisor is expected to be priced from Rs. 8 Lakh for the entry-level variant.
Toyota had launched the Hybrid version of the Hilux in Europe months after it was spied testing in Africa. The plan is to make the Diesel-Hybrid Powertrain available to as many countries as possible with India launched expected sometime in 2024 for both the Fortuner and the Hilux. The system is designed to offer enhanced torque assist, smoother start/stop functions, regenerative braking, and up to 10 percent better fuel efficiency compared to diesel-only powertrains.
Both the Fortuner and Hilux Hybrid are powered by the the 2.8 L 4 Cylinder Diesel engine paired to the 48V battery for the mild-hybrid which will help to reduce emissions and achieve better fuel efficiency. It is likely the power and the torque output will remain the same, 201 BHP and 420 NM for IMT Gearbox, and 500 NM for Automatic Gearbox. Additionally, the 2.7 L Petrol Engine will remain the same as before, 164 BHP and 245 NM of torque mated to 5 Speed Manual and 6 Speed Automatic Gearbox.
Toyota few weeks ago had unveiled the Urban Electric SUV concept which anyone will come to know that its a rebadge Maruti Suzuki eVX. The front profile of the SUV will be similar to its Crown SUV (sold internationally) while rear resembles the Maruti eVX. It’s expected Toyota will also offer single and dual-motor configuration in two-battery packs and claim range of around 550 KMs. Toyota is expected to reveal the production version of the SUV in mid 2024 with launch taking place in the late 2024.
It’ll have features like dual-screen 10.25-inch displays for the infotainment system, and digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, electric parking brake with auto hold, 360 Surround View Camera, 6 Airbags, Front and Rear Airbags, Powered Driver Seat, panoramic sunroof, and so much more. It’s also possible that it may come with 4×4 off-road capabilities.
At the 2023 LA Auto Show, the revised 9th Gen Toyota Camry had its world debut, exhibiting a revamped front end that was influenced by the most recent Crown model. It will only be available in a 2.5L gasoline/hybrid variant in the US, while in India its 2.5 L Petrol Hybrid Powertrain. It is anticipated that Toyota could launch the new Camry in India by late 2024. It has features like 12.3-inch infotainment, 7-inch digital cluster, JBL sound system, heads-up display, digital key, and various other features.
Moving to the safety, it’ll get multiple airbags as standard, Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 which is ADAS with features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keep Assist, Road Sign Assist, Auto High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Alert among the others. Although there are no alternative powertrain options, Toyota offers customers various suspension setups based on the specific variant they choose. This allows for customization and caters to different preferences in terms of driving dynamics.
