Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) will be introducing 4 New SUVs in India over the next 2 – 3 years. Starting will be from the Toyota’s Maruti rebadged electric SUV, the Urban Electric SUV with launch in 2nd half of 2025; 2 Hybrid SUVs – New Generation Toyota Fortuner and the 7-Seater SUV based on Toyota Hyryder; and last SUV will be an off-road SUV which will sit below the Fortuner in the line-up to rival the Scorpio-N.
Expected Launch: 2nd half of 2025
Toyota will be debuting their version of the Maruti Suzuki eVitara SUV in the latter half of 2025 drawing inspiration from its Urban SUV Concept debuted last year. It’ll be built on the Toyota’s 27PL Platform with support for both Single and Dual Electric Configurations or in other words, support for Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD) and All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) Configurations. The EV will have the same battery capacity as Maruti’s eVitara SUV –Battery Specs:1. 49 kWh Battery Pack – 142 bhp, 189 Nm – Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD) – 430 KM Range2. 61 kWh Battery Pack – 171.65 – 181 bhp, 189 – 300 Nm – FWD and AWD – 502 KM RangeFeatures-wise it’ll have the 360 Surround View Camera, dual displays, Automatic Climate Control, Electronic Parking Brake, Level 2 ADAS, Panoramic Sunroof, Front Ventilated Seats, Wireless Charging Pad, Hill Descent Control, Drive Modes, etc.

Toyota is expected to launch new-generation Fortuner in India in 2025 boasting new exterior and interior look. Moreover, the Fortuner will be debuting a new 2.0 L Turbo Petrol engine while retaining the 2.8 L Diesel engine, except it’ll get Mild-Hybrid Tech to reduce emissions and increase fuel efficiency of the SUV. The SUV will be getting tons of new features to stay in competition with its rivals the Jeep Meridian, and the 2 upcoming SUVs – MG Gloster Facelift, and New-gen Skoda Kodiaq.Features likely to be 360 Camera, Level 2 ADAS, Panoramic Sunroof, Captain Seats in 2nd row, 10.25-inch Dual Displays, Tri-zone Climate Control, etc. and so on.
Expected Launch: 2025 – 2026
Toyota is expected to launch the Hyryder-based 7-Seater SUV sometime in 2025 entering the mid-size SUV Segment to compete with MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, and Hyundai Alcazar. While the interior may be the same as Hyryder, the exterior will see updated styling like connected LED Tail-lamps, 18-inch Alloy Wheels, tweak front fascia, etc. Powertrain option will include 1.5 L 3 Cylinder Petrol Hybrid engine with eCVT Transmission, 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Z-Series Engine from Maruti Suzuki with transmission choice being 5 Speed Manual (MT), and 6 Speed Automatic (AT). It’s also possible Toyota will offer All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) with non-hybrid variants.New Features over Hyryder will include ADAS, Electronic Parking Brake, Dual-Zone Climate Control, Power Tailgate, etc.

Toyota is preparing to launch an affordable mini-SUV in India, expected to be named the Land Cruiser FJ. Measuring around 4.5 meters in length and sharing its wheelbase with the Fortuner, this SUV will be built on Toyota’s versatile IMV 0 platform, which supports cost-efficient, modular designs. Inspired by the Hilux Rangga SUV Concept, the Land Cruiser FJ is likely to combine rugged off-road capability with family-friendly features, making it a compelling option for emerging markets. Key highlights may include LED projector headlights, a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and advanced safety features like dual airbags and reverse parking sensors.
Under the hood, the Land Cruiser FJ is expected to feature Toyota’s GD-series diesel engine, with a petrol option also possible. Designed to deliver the off-road prowess of the Fortuner at a more accessible price point, it will cater to adventure seekers, families, and utility-focused buyers.
