Carmakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, and BMW will be launching their respective models in May 2023. One will be off-road vehicle, one will be CNG vehicle, one is a performance sedan and the one is an luxury SUV! Here are the four models launching in India in May 2023 –
Now that Maruti Suzuki has launched the Fronx, their whole attention will be on launching the 5-door version Off-road capable, Jimny, next. The Jimny was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 held in January this year. It is build on a ladder-frame chassis with 3-link rigid axle suspension with coil spring to help you drive in the rough road conditions as it rides on 15-inch alloy wheels.
The Jimny has the Maruti’s All-Grip Pro feature offers max torque and terrain so that you’re not stuck while off-roading. It has round-shaped LED headlamps with washer fluid for the headlamps. The bumpers are redesigned to increase the clearance and avoid the obstacles as Maruti claims it will get no scratches from stones or anything while off-roading. The Jimny is powered by 1.5-litre K15C engine that puts out 103.39 bhp and 134 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed Manual and 4-speed Automatic Transmission.
It is expected to launch in mid-May 2023 at around Rs. 8.5 lakh to Rs. 13 lakh.
Tata Motors recently started accepting bookings for the Altroz iCNG variant at Rs. 21,000 and could launch in May 2023. It had showcased the Altroz iCNG at the Auto Expo 2023 alongside the Tata Punch which will also be getting iCNG as well. Tata Motors went ahead and added features such as the sunroof, six airbags, and a digital instrument cluster that is quite similar to the one’s seen on the Tiago.
The digital instrument cluster has a separate fuel bar that shows CNG fuel level and shows on what fuel, Altroz is currently in. Tata has also added a separate CNG button next to the engine start/stop button so you can switch to CNG whenever you want. In fact, the Tata iCNG tech is so good, that you can start the Altroz with CNG fuel. The Altroz iCNG is powered by 1.2-litre Revoltron petrol engine which produces 85 bhp and 113 Nm of torque when in Petrol, and 72 bhp and 95 Nm of torque when in CNG.
Tata Altroz also has 5-star safety rating as well.
BMW will be launching the second-generation of M2 in India by the end of May 2023 and it will be imported. The new M2 is available with only one standard variant which is powered by the 3.0-litre straight six petrol engine which pumps out 453.70 bhp and 550 Nm of torque mated to an 8-speed Automatic Transmission and also has 6-speed Manual Transmission.
The BMW M2 measures 4575mm long, 1887mm wide, and 1403mm tall. Moreover, the M2 can do 0 – 100 kmph in just 4.3 seconds which is very quick. The M2 will be the last internal-combustion engine vehicle from the M division as the EVs are taking over. Therefore, you can expect the pricing of the M2 around Rs. 1 crore.
BMW will be launching a new variant of the X3, M40i, by the end of May 2023. The X3 M40i variant is a high-performance variant that has the 3.0-litre straight six turbo-petrol engine which produces 355.07 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. It drives all four wheels via an 8-speed Automatic Transmission. The M40i shares the same engine with the BMW 3 Series 340i variant. The difference is that the X3 M40i has 13.8 bhp less than the 3 Series M40i.
The X3 gets M-styling packages, Variable sport steering, M Brakes, M Sport Differential, and adaptive M suspension. Bookings for the X3 M40i are already opened at an amount of Rs. 5 lakhs. The BMW X3 M40i is expected to by priced around Rs. 75 lakhs.
