Volkswagen has been spotted testing a new SUV in India and appears to be the Taigun Facelift with much needed features and upgrades that were needed the most.
The current Taigun comes with decent amount of features compared to its rivals. Skoda had confirmed the facelifts of Kushaq and the Slavia with multiple features additions; and the same strategy can be applied for the Volkswagen. The camouflaged test mule doesn’t reveal anything, but taking into consideration; the Taigun Facelift could get new exterior and interior designs.

Exterior Design could see changes such as new bumpers, new headlamps and tail-lamps, new 17-inch alloy wheels, and slight change in the side profile. Interior Design however could look similar to the Volkswagen’s Tayron (sold internationally) like free-standing infotainment system, 2-spoke steering wheel with digital cluster, redesigned dashboard and centre console, new seat upholstery, panoramic sunroof on top, and that’s about it.Notably, the size of the SUV could increase from 4.22 Meters to maybe around 4.3 Meters bringing it closer to its rivals and offering more space and comfort for occupants. In Engine Options, it’s unlikely they’ll introduce new options and would continue with the 1.0 L Turbo Petrol with 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox; and the 1.5 L Turbo Petrol with 6 Speed Manual and 7 Speed DSG Gearbox. When it comes to Features, Volkswagen will likely introduce new features for the SUV such as 360 Surround View Camera, Level 2 ADAS, Panoramic Sunroof, Rear Disc Brakes, and few more.As for the launch, we could expect the facelift launch by the end of 2024 or before March 2025.
