Volvo recently launched its smallest and most affordable car in India in the form of a baby SUV,the XC40.XC40,when debuted was available only in single model – R-Design.Now,Volvo has officially launched XC40 Momentum at Rs. 39.9 Lakhs and Top of the line Inscription variant at Rs. 43.9 Lakhs(Ex-Showroom,Delhi) in response to high demands.The deliveries of both these variants will start later this year.R-Design prices has been increased to Rs. 42.9 Lakhs from introductory price of Rs. 39.9 Lakhs(Ex-Showroom).So these are prices and features comparison of Momentum vs R-Design vs Inscription.

Safety features which are available in all models includes front and side airbags, hill start assist, hill decent assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, land keeping assist, front collision mitigation support and reverse parking camera.

There is not much difference between R-Design and Inscription when it comes to features on offer.Features common in R-Design and Inscription includes 18-inch alloys,wireless phone charging,adaptive cruise controls,park assist pilot,power foldable rear headrest,12-speakers Harman Kardon sound system,powered tailgate,Volvo’s 9-inch portrait touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay,front and rear heated seats.
The base momentum variant misses on all these features except touchscreen infotainment system(misses apple carplay and android auto) and adaptive cruise controls being replaced by regular cruise controls.Momentum also comes with Panoramic sunroof,All Wheel Drive,Front Radar,Leather upholstery,Hill Descent Control and other standard safety features.
The top trim gets 6-spoke diamond cut alloys as compared to 5-spoke 18-inch Alloys of R-Design and base Momentum model.Inscription comes with chrome finished front grille,R-Design has a sporty grille with Momentum having a regular grille.The Momentum and Inscription comes with colour coordinated rear view mirror and silver finish for skid plates, while R-Design gets black finish for both.
The top end Inscription model also has crystal gear knob,metal tread plates with inscription badging on C-Pillar,electrically foldable rear seat headrest and a charging point in the boot.Inscription features driftwood inlays for the interior with subtle chrome inserts.
SAFETY FEATURES
For safety, the XC40 gets ABS with 8-airbags, Traction Control, ESP, Hill Start Assist and Descent Control and Parking Assist. Other trademark Volvo safety features include Volvo’s Radar based city safety, Oncoming lane mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Pilot Assist with traffic management capability, Blind spot information and Run-off-road mitigation.
