Mahindra is preparing a new SUV to take on its competitors, the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter, aiming to shake up the micro SUV segment. This new model, tentatively called the XUV1XO, is expected to bring a fresh and competitive edge to the market.
Mahindra XUV1XO: What to Expect!
Mahindra has trademarked the XUV1XO, which is anticipated to be a smaller, more affordable SUV compared to the recently launched XUV3XO. The XUV1XO will share a similar design language with the XUV3XO, featuring C-shaped LED DRLs, projector headlamps (possibly halogen), a black element with chrome lining connecting the headlamps, and a lower air intake design reminiscent of the XUV3XO.

The side profile will showcase 15-inch alloy wheels, body-colored door handles, functional roof rails, pillar-mounted door handles, and square-shaped wheel arches. The rear profile will likely include XUV700-like tail lamps connected by an LED light bar, black-finish bumpers, a roof spoiler with a shark fin antenna, and a rear wiper with a washer.
Under the hood, the XUV1XO is expected to be powered by a 1.2 L turbo petrol engine derived from the lower trims of the XUV3XO. This means it will not have the 128 BHP and 230-250 NM torque of its predecessor but will instead feature 109.96 BHP and 200 NM torque, paired with a 6-speed manual and an automatic (AMT) gearbox. It is unlikely that Mahindra will offer a diesel option for this SUV.
In terms of features, the XUV1XO is expected to include automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit cluster, and a single-pane sunroof, with the possibility of a panoramic sunroof in the top trim. Rear AC vents will also be included. For safety, standard features are expected to include 6 airbags, TPMS, hill start assist, and a 360 surround-view camera.
The SUV is anticipated to launch in late 2025, with an estimated price of around Rs. 6.5 lakhs.
