Ola Electric reports that it achieved a dominant 49% market share in May 2024, continuing to lead the electric two-wheeler segment. According to the government’s VAHAN Portal, the company recorded 37,191 vehicle registrations during the month, largely due to the success of its S1 scooter lineup.

The electric vehicle startup has recently entered the volume-based electric scooter market with the launch of the S1 X model, with deliveries beginning last month. The S1X is available in three battery configurations: 2 kWh, 3 kWh, and 4 kWh, priced between Rs. 74,999 and Rs. 99,999. Moreover, Ola Electric has updated the prices of its S1 Pro model.
The second-generation Ola S1 Pro is now priced at Rs. 1,29,999, the S1 Air at Rs. 1,04,999, and the S1X+ at Rs. 89,999. Commenting on the sales performance in May 2024, Anshul Khandelwal, Chief Marketing Officer of Ola Electric Technologies Private Limited, had this to say:
“We continue to lead India’s EV transition in the two-wheeler segment with a 49% market share and steady growth in registrations. We have recently started delivering our mass-market S1 X portfolio, which addresses the high upfront cost of EVs, one of the main barriers to EV adoption. With our S1 X, we aim to expand the electric two-wheeler market and drive overall industry growth.”
