Maruti Suzuki is set to launch a new compact SUV named ‘Escudo’ by this year after the launch of eVitara. This new SUV will sit between the Brezza and Grand Vitara in the lineup and will be sold via Arena dealerships. Originally planned as a 7-seater, it will now be a 5-seater with more boot space than the Grand Vitara. Key features may include ADAS, 360° camera, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, and a 9-inch touchscreen. Price is expected to start from Rs. 9 Lakhs.
Maruti will offer multiple powertrain options with the Escudo. Here are the expected options –
- 1.5 L Z12E Petrol – 5 Speed MT / AT
- 1.5 L Z12E Petrol Hybrid – It’s likely an in-house hybrid option which will be offered by Maruti with an eCVT Transmission

Tata Sierra EV & ICE
Expected Launch: Late 2025


Tata will be launching the Sierra SUV in both the ICE and EV forms, with the EV version launching first by the festive season with ICE version by end of this year. Tata showcased the pre-production model at the auto expo showing the bold rugged look the SUV once it goes into production. The EV won’t differ much, but could get new bumper design same as Harrier.ev, new alloy wheels, ev bits styling, etc. Interiors will see 12.3-inch triple screen setup, more legroom in the rear row, and more premium interiors over other Tata models. Expect pricing to start from Rs. 12 Lakhs.

Skoda Kushaq Facelift
Expected Launch: Late 2025


The 2025 Skoda Kushaq Facelift has been spied testing with camouflage, revealing changes to the grille and headlamp setup – likely inspired by the new Kodiaq—with repositioned DRLs, revised bumpers, and expected new 18-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, connected tail-lamps could be introduced. Inside, updates may include a floating infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, new steering wheel with Skoda lettering, dual-tone cabin theme, and a panoramic sunroof. - 1.0 L Turbo Petrol – 114 BHP, 178 NM – 6 Speed MT / AT – 18.09 KMPL

Expected new features include dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, drive and traction modes, while safety enhancements may add Level 2 ADAS, 360° camera, blind spot monitor, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and hill descent control. Price for the SUV is expected to start from Rs. 11 Lakhs onwards.

Renault Boreal
Expected Launch: H2 2026


Renault’s upcoming SUV for India, the Boreal (originally unveiled as the Dacia Bigster), has been spied testing for the first time, and it looks massive – set to take on the XUV700 and other 7-seater rivals. Based on the new-gen Duster platform, the Boreal measures 4.57 metres in length with a 2.7-metre wheelbase and 220mm ground clearance, giving it a rugged stance. Design highlights include Y-shaped LED lighting, thick body cladding, roof rails, and up to 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, it will share its layout with the Duster, featuring a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, digital cluster, panoramic sunroof, ADAS (optional), wireless charging, and premium touches. While the international model is a 5-seater, the India-spec will offer 7 seats and a huge boot, making it ideal for families and adventurers alike.
