Honda has slashed the prices of its Hybrid Sedan by Rs. 95,000 making it more accessible for consumers!

Honda Cars India has reduced the price of the City e:HEV, its strong hybrid sedan, making it more affordable than ever. The Honda City Hybrid ZX variant is now priced at Rs. 19.89 lakh (ex-showroom), down from Rs. 20.85 lakh – a price cut of Rs. 95,000. This move brings the hybrid sedan closer to its original 2022 launch price of Rs. 19.5 lakh, strengthening its appeal in the mid-size sedan segment.

Honda City Hybrid: Only Hybrid in Its Segment

The City e:HEV remains the only strong hybrid sedan in its segment, taking on ICE rivals like the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and Maruti Ciaz. With Toyota’s hybrid sedans positioned at a higher price point, the City Hybrid continues to stand out as a value-for-money full-hybrid offering. Here are its engine specifications –

  • 1.5 L 4 cylinder Atkinson-cycle Petrol Hybrid
  • 124 bhp, 253 Nm Torque
  • eCVT Transmission
  • ARAI-Certified Mileage: 27.26 kmpl
  • EV Mode: Capable of short-distance pure electric driving

Strong Hybrid, Strong Value

With the price drop, the Honda City e:HEV becomes a stronger option for buyers looking to shift from petrol sedans to more efficient alternatives. It not only offers low running costs and class-leading mileage but also brings in advanced tech and safety at a competitive price.

According to Kunal Behl, Vice President – Marketing & Sales at Honda Cars India, the price revision is expected to boost demand, especially with improved market sentiment during the upcoming festive season.

The mid-size sedan space has been under pressure from the rising SUV trend, but with this price correction, the City e:HEV is now positioned as the most accessible strong hybrid sedan in the Indian market—bridging the gap between ICE models and full-electric vehicles.
