A Tough Rival for Tata Curvv EV, Backed by Strong Trust Among Indian Buyers!

Hyundai India is all set to unveil the much-anticipated Creta-based all-electric SUV next month. This global debut will take place at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, marking Hyundai’s next big step in the electric vehicle (EV) segment. Ahead of its official reveal, the Creta EV has been spotted undergoing final tests, providing a glimpse of its design and features.

Exterior

Recent spy shots showcase the rear profile of the Creta EV, revealing several design updates that distinguish it from its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. Notable features include aero-designed alloy wheels for improved efficiency, connected taillamps for a modern look, an extended roof spoiler with an integrated high-mounted stop lamp, a shark-fin antenna and roof rails, pixelated patterns on the bumper adding a futuristic touch, and a rear wiper for practicality.

Interior and Features

The Creta EV’s cabin retains the familiar layout of the ICE model while introducing unique electric-specific elements. A new circular three-spoke steering wheel replaces the flat-bottom design found in the petrol and diesel variants. Exclusive “CRETA Electric” badging on the seats further highlights its identity. The electric SUV comes loaded with premium features such as twin 10.25-inch displays for infotainment and the digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging, ventilated front seats, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, a 360-degree camera for added convenience, a Level 2 ADAS suite for enhanced safety, and a stalk-mounted gear selector inspired by the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Performance and Range

Under the hood, the Creta EV is expected to house a 50-60 kWh battery pack, offering a driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge. Reports also suggest the electric motor will deliver approximately 138 bhp and 255 Nm of torque, ensuring a spirited driving experience. Additionally, the advanced regenerative braking system is likely to enhance efficiency, with a real-world range estimated at around 350-450 km.

Competitive Landscape

Once launched, the Creta EV will enter the competitive mid-size electric SUV segment, rivaling models like the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, BYD Atto 3, the upcoming Maruti eVX, and Mahindra BE.6 and XEV 9e.

Final Thoughts

With its cutting-edge design, feature-packed interior, and promising performance, the Hyundai Creta EV is poised to be a game-changer in India’s EV market. Scheduled for its grand unveiling at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, this electric SUV is expected to further strengthen Hyundai’s foothold in the rapidly growing electric vehicle segment. Stay tuned for more updates as Hyundai reveals detailed specifications and pricing next month.
