Tata Motors July 2024 Year-on-Year (YoY) Sales Performance

In July 2024, Tata Motors recorded total sales of 44,727 units, a 6.09% decline compared to the same month last year, when it sold 47,630 units. This decline, amounting to 2,903 fewer units sold, was driven primarily by significant drops in the sales of models like the Tiago, Altroz, and Tigor.

The Tiago and Altroz experienced the most notable year-over-year declines. Tiago’s sales plummeted by 36.93%, with 3,317 fewer units sold compared to July 2023. The Altroz faced an even steeper decline, with sales dropping by 55.94%, representing a decrease of 4,373 units. The Tigor also struggled, seeing a 44.30% drop in sales year-over-year.

However, not all models underperformed. The Tata Punch, Nexon, and Safari showed strong growth compared to July 2023. The Punch led the way with a 34.13% increase in sales, translating to 4,102 more units sold. The Nexon followed with a 12.58% growth, selling 1,553 more units, and the Safari recorded a 25.01% increase, with an additional 422 units sold.

On a month-over-month basis, Tata’s sales performance presents a more positive picture. The total sales in July 2024 were 2.76% higher than in June 2024, with an additional 1,200 units sold. This growth was driven by a few key models that saw substantial increases in sales from June to July.

The Safari and Harrier models experienced significant month-over-month growth, with sales rising by 51.29% and 47.81%, respectively. The Nexon also had a strong showing, with sales up by 15.22%. The Tiago and Tigor showed modest growth, with sales increasing by 9.49% and 9.04%, respectively.

In contrast, the Punch and Altroz models saw declines in their month-over-month sales. The Punch recorded an 11.61% decrease, selling 2,117 fewer units than in June 2024. The Altroz also experienced a decline, with sales dropping by 12.52%.
