Tata Motors’ sales performance in October 2024 remained largely stable compared to the previous year. The company posted a total of 48,133 units sold, which is a slight dip of 0.43% from the 48,343 units sold in October 2023. However, when compared to September 2024, Tata Motors saw a significant month-on-month (MoM) growth of 17.21%, as sales surged from 41,065 units in the previous month.

In October 2024, Tata Motors reported largely flat year-on-year (YoY) sales with 48,133 units sold, showing only a slight drop from 48,343 units in October 2023. The Tata Punch, which has consistently driven the company’s sales, recorded 15,740 units in October 2024, marking a modest 3% YoY growth from 15,317 units sold last October. This compact SUV remains in high demand, particularly for its sunroof-equipped variants, as Tata Motors phased out select petrol and CNG variants.
Following the Punch, the Tata Nexon registered 14,759 units sold in October 2024, down 13% from 16,887 units in the same month last year. Despite this setback, the Nexon remains one of Tata’s best-sellers.
The recently launched Tata Curvv is showing promising traction, with 5,351 units sold in October 2024. Its strong safety rating and innovative design have likely contributed to its positive reception since launch.
Among the hatchbacks, the Tata Tiago faced a 13% YoY decline, with 4,682 units sold compared to 5,356 units in October 2023. The Tata Altroz saw an even sharper drop, down 56% YoY, selling 2,642 units versus 5,984 units in October last year.
In the SUV segment, both the Tata Safari and Tata Harrier recorded gains. The Safari’s sales surged by 56% YoY to 2,086 units from 1,340 units in October 2023, while the Harrier saw a 3% increase with 1,947 units sold, up slightly from 1,896 units in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the Tata Tigor struggled with a significant 41% YoY decrease, with sales dropping to 926 units in October 2024 from 1,563 units the previous year.

Among the hatchbacks, the Tata Tiago saw an 11% MoM growth, selling 4,682 units in October, compared to 4,225 units in September. However, the Tata Altroz recorded a minor decline of 4% MoM, with 2,642 units sold versus 2,758 units in September.
Tata’s SUV lineup also saw notable MoM gains, with the Tata Safari rising by 27% to 2,086 units from 1,644 units in September. The Tata Harrier experienced a 22% increase, with 1,947 units sold in October compared to 1,600 units in the previous month.
Despite challenging YoY conditions, the Tata Tigor managed a slight MoM improvement, growing by 4% from 894 units in September to 926 units in October 2024.
In summary, Tata Motors achieved strong MoM growth across most models in October 2024, even as YoY performance remained largely flat.
