Tata Sierra when it launches in India will be biggest blockbuster SUV in the segment that will take everyone by storm

While there’s still time for the Tata Sierra to launch in India, why don’t we compare the upcoming SUV against the leader in the segment, the Hyundai Creta, and see how it competes.

Tata Sierra vs Hyundai Creta – Design

The Tata Sierra ICE version closely resembles its all-electric counterpart, with only subtle differences. The primary changes include a slightly redesigned grille and distinct alloy wheels fitted with 195/65 R19 tyres. The SUV retains signature design elements inspired by the original Sierra, such as the curved rear-side windows, squarish wheel arches, and a high-set bonnet. Additionally, this is the first time the Sierra has been displayed in a bright yellow shade, which contrasts well with the black cladding, enhancing its rugged appeal.

Hyundai Creta front features a larger grille with parametric detailing, accompanied by a lighting setup which includes split headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, sequential indicators, and a light bar across the grille, while the quad-LED headlamps are positioned lower on the bumper. New scuff plates further refine the styling, making it more appealing than the pre-facelift model. At the rear, the SUV has a sharper look with full LED tail lamps connected by a full-width LED light bar and a bumper with reverse lamp. From the side, 17-inches alloy wheel design, and camera’s on the ORVMs.

The near-production version of the Sierra features a modern cabin layout with three digital displays—a digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment touchscreen, and a passenger-side screen, all expected to be 12.3 inches. The four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and ambient lighting adds to the premium feel. Tata is likely to offer the Sierra in 4- and 5-seater configurations. The top-spec variant is expected to come with features like a Harman premium sound system, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and ventilated front seats. Safety equipment may include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and Level 2 ADAS for enhanced driver assistance.

Inside, the Creta receives a redesigned dashboard featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with updated software, seamlessly integrated with a 10.25-inch digital driver display borrowed from the Alcazar. The display offers three themes and also functions as a blind-view monitor when the indicators are engaged. The lower section of the centre console accommodates controls for the dual-zone climate control system, while lighter color tones and copper accents enhance the cabin’s premium feel. The rear section has USB Type-C charging ports, while the boot capacity remains at 433 litres.

Tata Sierra vs Hyundai Creta – Engine Specs

Tata Sierra vs Hyundai Creta – Features

Tata Sierra vs Hyundai Creta – Verdict

In the end, it depends which SUV do you want to go after? But if you ask us, we’ll suggest you to wait for the launch of Tata Sierra which will be available in Petrol, Diesel, and Electric Counterparts. Tata Sierra will be the first SUV in the segment to offer way more features that none would have expected like triple 12.3-inches displays, powered tailgate, and so much more. It even will get the powerful 1.5 L Turbo Petrol engine in the segment. However, if you don’t want to wait for Sierra, you get go right now for the Creta, which misses out on barely few features compared to Sierra but still its fun to drive, spacious, premium looking interiors, bold exteriors, etc. So the question is what are you going to do?
