This new luxury SUV which was once seen in luxury cars will now soon be available to affordable passenger cars.
Tata Motors is rapidly strengthening its EV portfolio in India, and after the successful launch of the Harrier EV, the spotlight is now on the upcoming Sierra.ev. Set to be positioned above the Tata Curvv in the brand’s SUV lineup, the Sierra.ev has been spied testing with a production-spec triple-screen dashboard—marking a major leap in Tata’s in-cabin tech and design strategy.
Triple-Screen Layout Confirmed in Tata Sierra.ev
New spy images confirm that the Tata Sierra.ev will debut a triple-screen setup on the dashboard, similar to what was seen earlier on the Mahindra XEV 9e. While earlier concepts of the Sierra showcased a dual-screen setup, this is the first time the full production version with three screens has been spotted.
The layout includes a digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, a centrally mounted infotainment touchscreen for vehicle controls and smartphone connectivity, and a third screen placed in front of the front passenger. This passenger-side screen is expected to offer dedicated entertainment options, potential support for in-car video conferencing, gaming, and even app-based interactivity—enhancing the premium feel of the cabin.
Sierra.ev’s Cabin Takes Inspiration from Harrier EV
Design cues from other Tata models are evident inside the Sierra.ev. The four-spoke steering wheel seen on the Harrier, Safari, and Curvv continues here as well. Other features visible in the spy shots include auto-dimming IRVM, ambient lighting, a sunglass holder, and interior lighting enhancements.
Compared to Kia Syros, which also features a triple-screen setup but uses a basic 5-inch HVAC control screen in the middle, Tata’s execution is much more premium and functional. With this, Tata Motors is not only keeping up with rivals like Mahindra but also setting a benchmark in tech integration for mainstream electric vehicles.
Powertrain and Launch Timeline
Tata Sierra.ev is likely to share its powertrain with the recently launched Harrier EV. This includes a 75 kWh battery pack paired with a dual-motor setup, delivering a combined torque of 504 Nm and featuring Tata’s QWD (Quad Wheel Drive) system—India’s first mainstream AWD electric SUV drivetrain.
The Sierra will also get ICE variants, expected to be powered by Tata’s new 1.5L turbo petrol engine and a Stellantis-sourced 2.0L turbo diesel engine.
With the Sierra.ev expected to debut during the festive season this year, Tata Motors is clearly doubling down on technology, performance, and design to cement its leadership in India’s EV space.
We expect Tata to price the Sierra.ev from Rs. 22.50 Lakh while the ICE version could start from Rs. 12 Lakhs.
Final Thoughts
The introduction of a triple-screen dashboard layout in the Tata Sierra.ev marks a significant milestone for the brand. It showcases Tata Motors’ push toward more premium, tech-loaded cabins in the electric SUV segment. As the second big launch of the year after the Harrier.ev, the Sierra.ev is shaping up to be a game-changer for Tata Motors and the mainstream EV market in India.
