MG achieved a major sales milestone in India with its recently launched spacious CUV loaded with plethora of features!

MG Motor India has achieved a significant milestone as the MG Windsor EV has become the fastest electric vehicle in India to cross the 20,000 sales mark. This achievement comes just six months after its launch, underlining the growing demand for EVs across the country.

MG Windsor EV Sales Soars

The MG Windsor EV has seen strong traction not only in metro cities but also in emerging markets, reflecting the rising acceptance of electric mobility nationwide. Rakesh Sen, Director Sales & Marketing, JSW MG Motor India, shared his thoughts on this success:

Since its launch, the MG Windsor has delighted car buyers with its exceptional value proposition. Customers have praised its futuristic design, intuitive tech features, spacious cabin, all combined with a sustainable and pocket friendly driving experience. In addition with the MG Windsor, we have successfully addressed category barriers and dispelled several myths around EVs in India through our innovative approach. This has enabled newer customers to adapt the EV lifestyle. These factors have propelled MG Windsor to become the fastest EV Model to achieve 20,000 sales milestone in record time. 

In February 2025, MG Motor India reached the 15,000 production milestone for the Windsor EV. At the time, the company claimed that the model was receiving around 200 bookings every day.

Intelligent CUV with Futuristic Design and Practical Features

Launched as India’s first Intelligent CUV, the MG Windsor combines the versatility of an SUV with the comfort of a sedan. Priced from Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, the EV also offers a full ownership option at Rs. 14 lakh. The mid-spec Exclusive trim is priced at Rs. 15 lakh, while the top-spec Essence variant costs Rs. 16 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Windsor is powered by a 38 kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers 100 kW (134 bhp) and 200 Nm of torque. It offers an ARAI-certified driving range of 332 km on a single charge. The running cost under the BaaS model stands at Rs. 3.9 per km.

Built with MG’s AeroGlide design language, it features a spacious cabin with 135-degree reclinable lounge seats, a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, over 80 iSmart connected car features, more than 30 Hinglish voice commands, six airbags, automatic climate control, and a large glass roof.

Future Plans: MG Cyberster and MG M9 Coming Soon

Building on this success, MG Motor India is preparing to launch two new models under its premium ‘MG Select’ retail. The upcoming MG Cyberster – a two-door electric roadster – and the MG M9, a luxury MPV, were recently showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and are expected to hit the market soon.

With the MG Windsor EV setting new benchmarks in electric mobility, MG Motor India continues to play a pivotal role in accelerating EV adoption across the country.
