Hyundai is working on a brand-new 7-seater SUV that will come with petrol, diesel, and hybrid powertrain options. This upcoming SUV will be manufactured at Hyundai’s new Talegaon plant near Pune.

New Hyundai 7-Seater SUV – Key Details

Hyundai is planning to launch a new 7-seater hybrid SUV for the Indian market, expected to sit between the Alcazar and the Tucson in the lineup. Codenamed Ni1i, this SUV will be the brand’s first hybrid SUV in India and is likely to debut within the next two years. It will be built at Hyundai’s Talegaon plant near Pune, after the next-gen Venue launches. The model could be based on the long-wheelbase Tucson sold in China, measuring about 4.68 metres in length – making it longer and more spacious than the Alcazar. It will focus on delivering better fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and more premium features.

New Hyundai 7-Seater SUV – Engine Options

While official details are yet to be confirmed, the expected engine options include:

  • 1.5 L Turbo Petrol – 158 BHP, 253 Nm – 6-speed MT / 7-speed DCT
  • 2.0 L Diesel – 183 BHP, 416 Nm – 8-speed AT (same as Tucson)
  • New 1.5L Petrol Hybrid – Paired with a 6-speed DCT
