Design
The front design draws inspiration from the Kia EV5, featuring L-shaped LED DRLs integrated into the headlamp units, connected by a slim LED light bar. The headlamps are likely LED projectors, with the top-spec variants expected to offer a full LED setup. At the rear, C-shaped connected LED tail lamps dominate the profile, along with subtle updates to the front and rear bumpers. The front fascia will boast closed grille and Radar Module on the lower air intake
While the spy shots don’t showcase the interiors, they are expected to mimic the newly debuted, Kia Syros. Highlights may include a free-standing 30-inch panoramic display – a fully digital 12.3-inch and infotainment cluster, 5-inch LCD Display for Climate control, and a refreshed center console and dashboard. Seating options will likely include 6 and 7-seater layouts, complemented by premium features like a panoramic sunroof on higher trims, dual-zone climate control with updated controls, and new upholstery. An electric parking brake will also available like the Syros.
Battery Specs & Features
Technical details are yet to be confirmed, but the EV could come with a 45–50 kWh battery pack paired with a single motor powering the front axle (FWD). This setup is expected to deliver a range of 450–500 km on a single charge.
Existing features include a Rear Entertainment Unit, 10.25-inch Infotainment System, Colour TFT Digital Cluster, Front Ventilated Seats, and so much more. But with the facelift, the MPV is expected to get Heads-up Display (HUD), powered co-passenger seat, a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, one-touch up/down functionality for all windows, Disc Brakes for All wheels, and more.
Launch
It’s possible Kia may showcase the ICE version of Carens Facelift at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 and make some sort of announcement for the EV version with launch in 2nd half of 2025. As for the competition, it’ll have no one to compete in the EV segment, but can manage with other electric MPV in the segment, the recently launched BYD eMax 7.
