After being spotted numerous times in camouflaged testing the KTM 390 Duke, it was spotted undisguised as the images of the new 390 Duke has found it’s way online. From what we can make from the images, here are the five things about the KTM 390 Duke that you should know –
Design
The front design of the new KTM 390 Duke has a new headlamp along with the updated LED DRLs, thus creating a new front face. This isn’t something new and the changes that they are gonna introduce were predictable, yet the design of the new KTM 390 Duke seems a bit more aggressive than the current model.
Hardware Update
From what we can see at the spy shots, the new 390 Duke will have new wheels and a new braking set-up which seems to be taken directly from the KTM RC Series. The suspension set-up at the front is fully adjustable WP USD forks and the 10-step adjustable mono-shock suspension at the rear.
New Chassis
From the spy shots, it is evident that the new KTM 390 Duke will have it’s chassis updated with a new rear sub-frame, even the swing-arm will be a new unit as well. The overall weight of the new 390 Duke will get reduced as KTM will use lighter materials for the frame as well as for the swing-arm.
Powertrain
According to the latest media reports, the upcoming new KTM 390 Duke will have an updated 399cc engine. Although it’s possible that KTM retain the 373cc Single Cylinder, Liquid Cooled, DOHC, FI Engine with minor updates. The new 390 Duke will have dual-fan radiator set-up to improve the cooling function.
Price and Launch
KTM will introduce numerous updates with the new KTM 390 Duke and it is possible that the prices of the bike will go up and therefore, we’re expecting to be priced somewhere around Rs. 3.30 lakh. As for the launch, KTM 390 Duke is scheduled for global debut later this year with launch scheduled for the first half of 2024.
