Volkswagen has updated both the models – Virtus, and Taigun with new features. These new features are in regards to the safety of the consumers. Let’s learn what new features both the models get.

Volkswagen Cars Gets New Features: All Details!

Volkswagen has updated the Virtus and the Taigun with 6 Airbags as standard across all the variants enhancing the safety of its occupants. Previously, both the models were equipped with dual frontal airbags in the lower trims, but now they’ll benefit with this update. This move comes just a month after Skoda made the announcement of standardising 6 Airbags across all trims of Kushaq, and Slavia.

As standard, both the models are now equipped with 6 Airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist, Rear Parking Camera, and Rear Parking Sensors. It’s worth noting that both models were tested at the Global NCAP, and both scored 5 Stars Safety Rating. Other main features include 10.1-inch Infotainment System, 7-inch Digital Cluster, Ventilated Seats, Front Powered Seats, and so on.

Recently, Volkswagen revealed that both these models under their India 2.0 Plan has crossed the sales mark of 1 Lakh Units in India. Out of these, Taigun contributed about 60% of their total India 2.0 Sales; the other 40% opted for the sportier GT variants of the Taigun and Virtus.

Both the Models gets two engine options – 1.0 L Turbo Petrol producing 113 BHP and 178 NM Torque mated to 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox; the other is also a 1.5 L Turbo Petrol Engine delivering 147 BHP and 250 NM Torque mated to 6 Speed Manual and 7 Speed DSG Gearbox.

The VW Taigun is currently priced between Rs. 11.70 – Rs. 20 Lakhs (ex-showroom) while the VW Virtus is priced between Rs. 11.56 – Rs. 19.41 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
