Hyundai-Kia EVs will become affordable soon. Know how!

Hyundai-Kia are set to use domestically-produced batteries for their EVs in India.

Hyundai and Kia are owned by the Hyundai Motors Group have signed an MoU with Exide Energy Solutions Ltd for localised batteries.

Hyundai will be focused towards Lithium-Iron Phosphate Batteries (LFP) cells.

The MoU facilitates strategic collaboration with Exide for the exclusive development, production, supply, and partnership of batteries in India.

Kia currently sells EV6 in India through the CBU Route, and Hyundai's got Kona EV and Ioniq 5.

The EV market in India is small at the moment, but the success for companies hinges significantly on the availability of affordable mass-market electric cars.
