Mahindra has officially launched the XUV 3XO in the Australian market, aiming to expand its global presence in the subcompact SUV segment. Offered in two feature-packed variants – AX5L and AX7L – the XUV 3XO is priced from AUD 23,490 (approx. ₹13.18 lakh). These introductory prices are valid until August 31, 2025, after which both variants will see a price hike of AUD 500.
Unlike the Indian version, which is available with multiple engine options, the Australian-spec XUV 3XO is offered solely with the 1.2-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine producing 110 hp and 200 Nm torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, with no manual option on offer.
The reason behind offering only AX5L and AX7L trims is that both come equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a key requirement in Australia due to mandatory Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) regulations. Features under ADAS include forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.
While the India-spec model is already Bharat NCAP 5-star rated, Mahindra hasn’t submitted the SUV to ANCAP for safety assessment yet. The brand plans to send the XUV 3XO for ANCAP testing in 2026 under the upcoming revised protocols, although ANCAP may independently conduct the crash test earlier.
Visually, the Australian version retains the same styling seen on the Indian model, including C-shaped LED DRLs, bold front grille, edgy Infinity LED tail-lamps, and muscular stance.
The AX5L rides on 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, while the AX7L gets larger 17-inch units. Colour options for AX5L include Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Stealth Black, and Tango Red. For AX7L, Stealth Black is replaced with an exclusive Citrine Yellow.
Both variants come loaded with premium features such as:
The top-spec AX7L additionally offers a panoramic sunroof (Skyroof), black leatherette upholstery, Harman Kardon 7-speaker sound system, and soft-touch materials on the dashboard and doors.
With this launch, Mahindra is targeting rivals like the MG ZS, Kia Stonic, Hyundai Venue, Mazda CX-3, and Chery Tiggo 4. The XUV 3XO stands out with its feature-rich package and aggressive pricing.
Introductory prices are as follows:
By offering high-end features, mandatory ADAS, and a competitive price tag, the Mahindra XUV 3XO is positioned as a strong value-for-money contender in the Australian compact SUV market.
