A new scoop on the roof which is part of the body kit was added to make the off-road SUV look bold and muscular.
From the side, the 15-inch alloy wheels has been replaced with the 18-inch alloy wheels from the aftermarket brand called AD, and black-painted roof-mounted spoiler. Even the spare wheel cover is replaced with the similar G-Wagon-like unit. The Jimny branding is retained with this body kit, but the bumpers and the taillights has been revised. The interiors are customized as well like the full-black seat upholstery is replaced with the premium dual-tone red and black interior with leather-wrapped seats.
The Jimny interiors has been reworked to match the G-Wagon’s style for a luxurious feel; Cardi K4 ambient lights installed on the door and dashboard by VM Customs. No changes to the engines has been made, it retains the 1.5-litre K15B producing 103.39 bhp and 134.2 Nm of torque paired to 5-speed Manual Gearbox with 16.94 kmpl fuel efficiency, and 4-speed Automatic Gearbox with 16.39 kmpl fuel efficiency.
In the end, does this modifications sound legal? Well, not quite, given when you modify your car, it changes the identity of the car, making the cops and RTO consider this as illegal. Certain changes can be made that doesn’t make a big difference, or changes the specifications of the car like cars color, adding minor accessories like visors, bumper corner protection, changing tyre size, etc. Although, if you want to change the engine, it’ll require permission form RTO, and if any of these rules are violated, a fine of Rs. 5,000 per alteration, or face imprisonment for up to 6 months.
Structural changes, aftermarket accessories like bull bars, and installing oversize tyres are all prohibited. These modifications could attract attentions on roads as many a times, they’re constructed at local garages without proper wielding equipment which could lead to possibly dismantling on the middle of the road while you drive making it dangerous for others like some serious accidents. Police in many states are keeping an eye on these modifications and issues challans to those violating rules.
