Honda Amaze was crash tested at the Global NCAP under new norms and was awarded 2 Star Rating for AOP and 0 Star Rating in COP. The Amaze is one of the last few cars that were tested under the Global NCAP’s Safer Cars for India campaign as India now has it’s own Bharat NCAP Programme.
Honda Amaze Crash Test Results!
Back in 2019, Honda Amaze had secured 4 Star Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 1 Star Child Occupant Protection (COP). However, this was the Made-in-India model that was exported and sold in the South African Market.

In Adult Occupants Protection (AOP), the Amaze scored 27.35 points out of 34 Maximum points. Out of these points, the Amaze provides adequate protection for the driver and passenger’s chest, Marginal protection for the knees, and Good Protection for Driver’s neck in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test. The Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test, Head and Pelvis shows good protection, chest shows Marginal Protection, and Abdomen shows Adequate Protection. The Side Pole Impact Test wasn’t conducted as “there is no availability of side head protection even as optional,” states the report.
In Child Occupant Protection (COP), it scored 8.59 points of 49 Maximum Points which is pretty low if you ask. The car’s child occupant protection receives a 0-star rating due to several factors. While ISOFIX anchorages and top tether provided adequate protection for a 3-year-old forward-facing seat, head contact with the vehicle interior occurred.
Additionally, an 18-month-old’s rearward-facing seat installed with adult seatbelt failed to prevent ejection risk in frontal impacts. Limited 3-point belts, lack of airbag disconnection for rear-facing seats, and failed installation in the rear center position contribute to the rating. Side impact protection is commendable, but overall, these deficiencies result in the low safety score.
Honda Cars India upon this result released an official statement stating that the lower rating is due to missing equipments required like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Side Curtain Airbags, etc to comply with the protocol. The Amaze has safety features like dual frontal airbags, ABS with EBD, Rear Parking Sensors, Rear Parking Camera, High Speed Alert, ISOFIX anchorages, etc.
