We had the opportunity to take the all-electric BMW i5 M60 for a long drive, and here’s what we found. First off, this performance-oriented variant comes equipped with a dual-motor AWD setup delivering an impressive 593 BHP and 795 Nm of torque. Power is sent through a single-speed transmission, allowing the i5 M60 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The sheer immediacy of acceleration is exhilarating, making it one of the quickest luxury sedans in its class. Despite this performance, it manages an estimated real-world range of 450-480 km, which is close to its claimed 516 km range. Fast charging from 10% to 80% takes just 30 minutes, making long-distance travel practical.

The driving experience of the i5 M60 is centered around a balance of performance and comfort. The power delivery is instantaneous, but it remains composed rather than overly aggressive. Different drive modes, including Sport and Expressive, alter throttle response and steering weight, with noticeable differences between them. The rear-wheel steering ensures excellent maneuverability in city driving, while at higher speeds, it aids stability. Body control is well-managed, and even with the additional weight of the battery pack, the car feels planted in corners.

Suspension tuning leans slightly towards the firm side, as expected from an M-badged model, but it doesn’t compromise overall ride quality. The i5 M60 glides over minor road imperfections, though larger potholes require some caution, especially with its 136 mm ground clearance.
