
In the coming months, India will see the launch of many new cars that will surely change the market forever, and will definitely re-ignite the competition in those segments with some new features, engine options, and many more. Let’s see which cars are launching in the coming months!
Tata Nexon Facelift (Expected August 2023)
Tata Motors has been spotted numerous times now testing the Nexon Facelift, and we’ve seen the changes, they’re going to make to the SUV. It’ll be getting a new digital instrument cluster, a new 10.25-inch infotainment system, a digital display on the new two-spoke steering wheel to control the instrument cluster, and a few functions of the infotainment system, Exterior will see front and rear end design change inspired from Tata Curvv. It’ll also get a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol powertrain producing 118.35 bhp and 170 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed Manual and 7-speed DCT Gearbox.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor (Expected November 2023)
Toyota will be rebadging the Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV under the nameplate, Urban Cruiser Taisor as spotted in the trademark filing earlier this month. In design, it is expected to be influenced by the Hyryder and come with the same features from the Fronx like 360-degree camera, Wireless Charging Pad, 9-inch infotainment system, Heads-up Display, 16-inch alloy wheels, and few more. In Engine Options, it’ll sport the same engine options as the Fronx which is the 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 87.29 bhp and 113 Nm of torque mated to 5-speed Manual and 5-speed Automatic Gearbox, and the other will be a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 98.69 bhp and 147.6 Nm of torque paired to 5-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox.
The interior styling and layout will most likely remain the same as the Fronx. As for the launch, it is possible that Toyota could launch the Taisor in the first week of November 2023 as part of their 6-months deal and price it at Rs. 7.56 lakh for the entry-level variant.
Hyundai i20 Facelift (Expected November 2023)
Hyundai Motors few months ago gave the i20 a mid-life facelift update with little changes to the exterior and interior of the hatchback. From the front, it has slightly tweaked design to the grille, and just above the bumpers, at the sides it get’s two arrow-shaped inlet. The lower part is finished in contrast black and now it has a wider chin. The headlamps unit in Europe remains unchanged as they’re LED headlamps unit. The Hyundai 2D logo has been repositioned from the grille to the body just below the bonnet to make room for the ADAS radar system in European version.
Other than the styling changes, it gets a new star-shaped alloy wheels with 16-inch size in lower variants and 17-inch size in the top variants. The rear has minimal changes like the dual-tone rear bumper and faux diffuser. The i20 facelift gets three new exterior color shades – Lime Metallic Color, Lumen Gray, and Meta Blue Pearl shades. From the inside, there are no major changes or new equipment except for the fact it now has ADAS as standard with Lane Following Assistance, and Forward Collision Warning with Assistance.
Hyundai has improved the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster as they look similar to the one’s in Creta. The i20 Facelift is expected to launch in November 2023.
Tata Punch EV (Expected November 2023)
Tata Motors is seen testing the EV version of the Punch SUV that sits below the Nexon in the line-up, and through the spy shots, we got many information on how the Punch EV is going to look, and what’s its going to pack. The Punch EV at the front will closely resemble the ICE version with closed grille, and will get new features like the 360-degree camera, electric parking brake with auto hold function, and many more. From the inside, the layout and design will remain the same, and it won’t get the 10.25-inch infotainment system, it’ll continue to sport the 7-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, but its possible that the UI of the 7-inch display could be updated to provide better visuals. Tata Motors recently launched iCNG of Punch and in this update, it got single-pane sunroof, and on the EV, its going to have a sunroof as well.
Mahindra XUV300 Facelift (Expected Early 2024)
Mahindra was spotted testing the XUV300 facelift with new tailgate which is flatter and possibly connected LED light bar with the taillights. From what was seen in the spy shots, the XUV300 will remain unchanged except for the cosmetic changes, it could get a new alloy wheel sets, and a panoramic sunroof for the SUV as seen through the spy shots. The interiors of the XUV300 in the spy shots cannot be seen, but Mahindra could add new features in the SUV such as bigger infotainment system, ventilated seats, digital instrument cluster, and many more. The design is highly likely to change due to Mahindra cutting ties with Ssangyong, Korean carmaker as the current XUV300 design is styled in line with the Ssangyong Tivoli. Mahindra could take new design cues from the XUV700, or Scorpio-N.
Kia Sonet Facelift (Expected December 2023)
Kia was first spotted testing the Sonet facelift in Korea as the test mule was exported from India to the headquarters of Kia. But now, the test mule of Sonet Facelift has made its way to India and though we have only seen it once, we’re most likely to see more spy shots of the SUV in the coming weeks. The Sonet Facelift will feature few design tweaks over the current one which are barely visible because it is heavily covered. The facelift will get crisper headlamp design and piano-black finished grille which is newly designed; the headlamps appears to be connected with the fog lamps vertically which might be used as LED DRLs or turn indicators, and a new bumper with large fog-lamps.
At the rear, the Sonet has L-shaped tail lamps similar to the one seen on the new Seltos or on the Kia Carens where as the current one has straight tail lamps with cube-shaped light inside the tail lamps which works as brake lights and for parking lights. The Sonet is already a feature-loaded compact SUV, and to add more, it could introduce 360-degree camera, 8-speaker Bose sound system, more color options in Ambient lighting, and introduce first-in segment features. The Kia Sonet facelift is expected in the coming months possibly before the end of this year.
