A New Hyundai SUV with Hybrid Powertrain will be launching soon to compete against Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder!
Hyundai is preparing to introduce the third-generation Creta in India by 2027. The new model, codenamed SX3, is expected to retain the existing engine options while adding a hybrid variant. The Creta Electric will also receive a mid-life update in the same year.
Next-Generation Hyundai Creta: Expected Changes
The next-gen Creta will be manufactured at Hyundai’s Tamil Nadu plant. While official details are limited, the SUV is likely to continue with its current engine lineup, including a 1.5-litre petrol with 115 hp, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 160 hp, and a 1.5-litre diesel with 116 hp. Both manual and automatic transmission options will be available.
Hyundai is also working on a strong hybrid powertrain for the Creta, which would be the brand’s first hybrid model in India. This setup is expected to pair a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, similar to the upcoming Ni1i SUV that will be positioned between the Alcazar and Tucson.
Apart from mechanical upgrades, the third-gen Creta is expected to come with a refreshed design, more features, and improved safety equipment to keep it competitive in the segment.
Hyundai Creta Electric Facelift in 2027
The Hyundai Creta Electric, set to debut at Auto Expo 2025, will receive a mid-cycle update in 2027. While details are not yet confirmed, the facelifted model could bring exterior styling updates, enhanced technology and comfort features, and possibly an improved range with larger batteries or better battery management software.
With both the next-gen Creta and Creta Electric facelift planned for 2027, Hyundai aims to strengthen its presence in the midsize SUV segment by offering a wide range of powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric.
