Toyota has abandoned plans to develop a new C-segment SUV based on the Corolla Cross, which is sold abroad. The vehicle was supposed to launch in the coming years.
Toyota’s (340D) SUV is not coming to India

Toyota has said that it will not be introducing its new C-Segment SUV to the Indian market. Toyota intended to launch a new hybrid seven-seat SUV in the Indian market that would be based on the Corolla Cross and share its engine and technological features with the Hycross, but with a more upscale appearance. However, Toyota abandoned the plan to launch the future Corolla cross-based 7-seater SUV because of technical difficulties and shifting consumer demand. To make up for it, Toyota might release a new SUV later on, or it might introduce the Corolla Cross in the Indian market. Toyota is concentrating more on the expansion of its third manufacturing plant in Bangalore in order to boost production.
Upcoming launches from Toyota:
A new generation Fortuner and a seven-seater version of the Hyryder are scheduled to arrive on the market later this year, and Toyota will soon launch a new rival to the Maruti Fronx.
