Toyota Innova Hycross is a popular choice for families looking for a comfortable, fuel-efficient, and spacious MPV. An owner who switched from a sedan shares his experience, highlighting its ease of driving, hybrid efficiency, and practicality for daily use and long trips.
The owner said the Toyota Innova Hycross is very easy to drive, even in the city. Since he previously drove a sedan, he expected some difficulty adjusting, but the smooth handling made the transition effortless. The hybrid system helps in city traffic, and despite being a large MPV, it does not feel bulky to drive. On highways, the ADAS system works well, though he noticed some minor issues, which he feels are manageable.
The owner is getting 16 kmpl fuel efficiency in normal driving conditions. He is trying to improve this further by using a soft-pedal driving style to make better use of the hybrid system. The car automatically switches between petrol and electric power, but he sometimes feels a slight lag in performance. However, since he bought the car for family comfort, this does not bother him much.
One of the biggest reasons he chose the Innova Hycross over SUVs like the XUV700, Safari, and Harrier was the better third-row seating. He says the third row has enough space for adults, unlike many SUVs where it feels cramped. He often uses the car for family trips and school pickups, and seven people can sit comfortably. The panoramic sunroof also makes the cabin feel more open and airy.
The 300-liter boot space is very useful, and when the third-row seats are folded, there is even more room. He tested the storage by placing four large travel bags, which fit easily, making it great for long trips and vacations.
He booked the Innova Hycross in December 2022, but the delivery took longer than expected. While the dealer initially promised a 4-5 month waiting period, he finally got the car in July 2023. However, he had a good experience with the dealership, as they did not force him to buy accessories or charge extra.
Pros:
Easy to drive, even for first-time MPV users
Good fuel efficiency for a big car
Spacious third-row seating, suitable for adults
Panoramic sunroof makes the cabin feel bigger
Large boot space, perfect for long trips
Cons:
Hybrid-to-petrol switch causes a slight performance lag
Not ideal for those who prefer high performance
Long waiting period during booking
The owner feels the Toyota Innova Hycross is a great family car, offering comfort, space, and fuel efficiency. It may not be for those looking for a performance-focused car, but it is perfect for long journeys and daily use.
