Hyundai Motors India Limited is all set to launch it’s slightly updated version of Elite i20 in the coming days.This New 2019 Elite i20 will get features updates throughout its variant range along with certain new standard safety features, and much more.Not only this, Hyundai has also updated it’s premium and popular SUV, Creta with a number of top-notch equipments.Both these Hyundai cars are top selling products for the brand and with these new features, Hyundai is likely to strengthen it’s position in all the segments.
First of all, we will throw light on what updates has the Elite i20 hatchback received.Firstly, Hyundai has changed the name of Magna Executive variant to Magna+ and Sportz variant to Sportz+ or we can say that they have combined Magna Executive and Sportz into one and called it as Magna+ 2019 and similarly Sports and Asta into new Sportz+ model.However, Asta model will still be available in diesel Elite i20 but only in the form of Asta Dual tone trim.
Coming to the features that every variant has received, first comes the base Era variant.Era model is the base variant of Hyundai Elite i20 2019 and is now priced at Rs. 5.49 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) for petrol variant and Rs. 6.88 Lakhs for Era diesel 2019, which is pricier by Rs. 8,000.New Features of 2019 Era variant of Elite i20 are Reverse Parking Sensors, and Eco Coating Technology which helps to prevent bad odour from the AC and keeps cabin fresh.
Elite i20 Magna Executive will now be called Magna Plus in 2019 and petrol and diesel Magna+ are priced at Rs. 6.25 Lakhs and Rs. 7.61 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) respectively.The price has increased to about Rs. 40,000 from the 2018 Elite i20.Magna+ misses out on CVT transmission and will only be powered with a 5-speed manual gearbox.Since the price of this variant has increased by quite a bit margin, so Hyundai has also added on number of cosmetic changes and new features as well.Magna+ model gets multi-functional steering wheel with audio, bluetooth and voice recognition controls.On the interior of Magna+, only cabin lamp for front passengers are add-on.Exterior of Magna Plus receive new prominent features like sleek chrome finish on front grille and fog lamps with LED DRLs.Along with this, 2019 Elite i20 gets remote central locking and central locking for new Magna Plus model.
2019 Elite i20 Sports plus was earlier called Asta but in 2019 sports and Asta variants have been combined in an all new Sportz+ variant.Sportz+ trim is the third variant of New Elite i20 below the top end Asta(O) model and prices starts from Rs. 7.11 Lakhs(Ex-Showroom, Delhi).ELite i20 Sportz+ Petrol CVT and Sportz Plus Diesel carry a price tag of Rs. 8.2 Lakhs and Rs. 8.36 Lakhs.Not only this, Hyundai is also offering dual tone paint option in Sports variant.The Sportz plus 1.2 petrol dual tone and sports plus 1.4 CRDi diesel dual tone are priced at Rs. 7.41 Lakhs and Rs. 8.66 Lakhs respectively.Sportz plus variant is priced Rs. 5,000 more than 2018 Elite i20 Asta.
Sportz+ variant of 2019 Hyundai Elite i20 gets stylish 15-inch gunmetal alloys, 7-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and display for rear camera along with comfort and convenience features like tilt and telescopic steering and sliding front armrest with storage.Sportz+ CVT and Sportz+ dual tone variant of new i20 2019 gets segment first wireless charging while the sports dual tone grabs a number of additional features like 16-inch diamond cut alloys, adjustable rear seat headrests and black ORVMs for sporty feel.
New i20 2019 gets Asta(O) as the top of the line variant.Asta optional comes in both petrol manual and CVT automatic option.But it is important to mention that for petrol Elite i20, Asta variant has been removed and at the top of New i20 2019 range is Asta(O).While for diesel versions, Hyundai has only offered Asta Dual tone variant.Only feature add-on is wireless charging.No other updates are made to this variant.Asta (O) petrol manual of Elite i20 is priced at Rs. 8.1 L while Asta(O) CVT petrol costs Rs. 9.11 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).The diesel Asta Dual tone costs Rs. 9.31 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom) and Rs. 10.8 Lakhs (On-Road Price, Delhi).
The most value for money variant of New Hyundai i20 2019 has to be the new Sportz+ model given the features that it offers.But if you are ready to extend your budget, then you can get stunning 16-inch alloys, wireless charging and a number of comfort and convenience features as well.
2019 Elite i20 will be powered by the same set of engines.The 1.2 L unit makes figures of 82 BHP and 115 NM while the 1.4 L diesel churns out 90 BHP of power and 220 NM of peak torque.Mileage as well as the specifications remains untouched.
