Japanese Automakers,Nissan,has confirmed the launch schedule of their Kicks SUV in the Indian market.Nissan Kicks will be launched in India in January 2019.The Indian Nissan Kicks would be slightly different from the globally sold model.Nissan will work on SUV in such a way that it suits the Indian conditions.The report states that India-spec Kicks will be more spacious and will features host of connectivity options.
Alfonso Albaisa,Executive Design Director,Nissan group said that the India-spec Kicks will be different from the global-spec SUV.Nissan will tweak the proportions of the SUV for a spacious cabin along with tons of connectivity options.
Nissan Kicks will be offered in both petrol and diesel engines.Presently there is no confirmation regarding the introduction of automatic variant in Nissan Kicks.But there are many chances of introcution of AMT given that Creta currently offers automatic.
Powertrains includes the same 1.5-litre petrol that is currently on offer in Nissan Terrano producing 104 bhp and 142 nm of torque and 1.5-litre diesel one with figures of 108 bhp and 240 nm.Petrol unit gets a 5-speed manual gearbox and diesel engine is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox.Although the global-spec model features All Wheel Drive system but the India-spec Kicks is unlikely to get AWD in order to keep the cost down.
Nissan will try to keep the pricing of Kicks competitive.It is expected to be priced between Rs. 11 Lakhs – Rs. 16 Lakhs.At this price,it competes with segment leader Hyundai Creta,Renault Duster and Mahindra Scorpio.
