Recently India’s largest carmaker,Maruti Suzuki,announced the launch of it’s new telematics solution system ‘Suzuki Connect’ for its Nexa branded vehicles.

‘Suzuki Connect’ aims to enhance user convenience and experience through advanced technology for emergency alerts, vehicle tracking, live vehicle status, and preventive maintenance calls.



Company claims that Suzuki Connect is a telematics control unit solution which has been designed to offers customers improved safety, security and user-friendly connected car experience.The Concern of performance parameters of the vehicle are addressed by the Live Vehicle Status function that offers information like – low fuel alert, service reminders, over speeding warnings, last trip summary and more.

Suzuki Connect is available at a price of Rs. 9,999 and is available as an option that can be installed by customers in their cars across NEXA network in the country.It is available with a three-year subscription with Vodafone SIM attached in it.‘Suzuki Connect’ can be configured to send information up to 5 selected users in case of an emergency.After installation, it can be connected through Nexa App which is available on both android and iOS. 



Suzuki Connect is right now only available for Nexa-branded cars, new and existing.The system can also be retrofitted to existing Nexa cars.Mr. R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki said, “Suzuki Connect is an advanced telematics solution developed and tested in India to offer seamless connected car experience to car owners. A nationwide extensive study was conducted to understand the challenges that Indian car owners face daily and their expectations from these solutions.

Suzuki Connect’ is developed and rigorously tested in India and extensively incorporates learning from driving behaviour and challenges faced by Indian customers.



Right now, Suzuki Connect is only available as an accessory in the Nexa portfolio, but the company plans to introduce it in the Arena portfolio by end of this year.Maruti Suzuki expects 2.6 per cent of Indian cars to be connected by 2020.



One of the significant features of ‘Suzuki Connect’ is that it is very secure and is very difficult to tamper. Over 2800 technicians have been trained to install the equipment on cars.All data is encrypted and secured on Maruti Suzuki’s cloud and has been designed to function in only one way, Vehicle-To-Cloud and not the other way around.

Features of ’Suzuki Connect’ 

1. Emergency Alerts

In case of any Emergency situation like airbag deployment,it automatically sends an alert to user’s family/friends along with GPS coordinates & vehicle details.



2. Preventive Assistance

Incase system detects a malfunction, Maruti Suzuki India Limited Customer Care will proactively contact the customer for any assistance needed for his vehicle.



3. Vehicle Tracking

Real time vehicle tracking along with advance features like live location sharing, tow away alert, Geofencing and navigation to parked vehicle.



4. Driving Behavior Analysis

Enhance user’s driving experience through analysis on user’s driving behaviour on economy, comfort & safety aspects along with trip details.



5. Live Vehicle Status

Users can remotely check their vehicle status like Seat Belt, Status of AC, Fuel level, Odometer value.



6. Convenience Alerts

Low fuel alert, over speeding alerts etc. can be configured as per the choice of the user. System also sends accurate service reminders based on odometer reading.
