Tata H7X launching in second half of 2019, bigger than Harrier

Tata Harrier was recently launched in 5-seating option and the carmakers are planning to bring it’s 7-seater version by the end of 2019

The Harrier SUV by Tata Motors was one of the most anticipated cars of 2019.Company had a lot of expectations with the SUV and yes it created the hype among the Indian consumers.Currently, Harrier is on 3 months waiting period as it has grabbed more than 16,000 bookings.

After launching the Harrier, the company has confirmed to launch the 7-seater version of Harrier in India as well.And the launch of 7-seater H7X will take place in 2019 only.Most probably, H7X will be coming to India by November 2019.

Like the Harrier, H7X will be based on same OMEGA platform and is expected to share a number of components with Harrier as well.But in oder to keep it different from Harrier, it will get a slightly revised design which will be seen on both front and rear ends.

Harrier H7X will get a slightly flat roofline, LED tail lamp unit to keep it distinctive from Harrier.Flatter roofline will result in more headroom for the 3 row passengers.For more space inside the cabin, length, width and height of 7 seater Harrier will be slightly more than Harrier while the wheelbase is expected to remain same as the latter.

In terms of features, it will get leather upholstery, 8.8-inch floating infotainment system, ESP, electric sunroof, 18-inch alloys, AC vents for second and third row, automatic wipers and headlamps and fully automated climate control system.

Under the hood, 7-seater Harrier will get a 2.0-litre fiat-sourced unit but it will be tuned for better performance.It will make 173 BHP of power and 350 NM torque.This unit will be paired to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission.Harrier is also likely to get the AT unit at the end of 2019 only.

Tata Motors is not planning to bring AWD system for both Harrier and H7X.While a petrol engine is expected to be launched by mid-2020.It will be a 1.4-litre petrol engine only which is likely to get an automatic gearbox.

Tata Harrier is priced between Rs. 12.69 L and Rs. 16.25 L.The 7-seater variant of the SUV will be priced Rs. 1.5 Lakhs higher than the Harrier SUV in India.The expected price of base variant of Harrier 7-seater is Rs. 14.2 Lakhs with the range topping model costing Rs. 19 Lakhs (All Prices, Ex-Showroom, Delhi)
