Tata Motors to supply superfast chargers to MG Motors selected dealerships

MG Motors India and Tata Motors signed a MoU in which Tata Power will deploy 50KW DC fast chargers at selected Morris Garages dealership location.

These EV chargers can used by MH ZS EV owners as well as other electric vehicle others whose automobiles are compatible with CCS / CHAdeMO charging standards to charge up their electric vehicle.

Currently MG Motors India has a total of 10 superfast charging station at its showrooms across five cities – New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. With this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), they are looking to expand their EV charging ecosystem with more than 180 charging points in 19 different cities under the EZ Charge band.

Also recently only, MG Motors India, announced the availability of its first electric SUV, MG ZS EV, in six new cities and the carmakers are going to install charging stations in these locations as well.

Along with this, MG Motors India, with this partnership with Tata Power will also look at the opportunities for the second life usage of EV battery which basically means when the battery of electric vehicle reaches the end of its first life, it will be used for fulfilling other purposes.

Speaking on this association, Rajeev Chaba, President and MD, MG Motor India, said, “Further strengthening our commitment to India, we aim to provide our customers with a robust charging ecosystem to promote the adoption of cleaner and greener mobility solutions. With a partner like Tata Power, a renowned major in the field of power, we are confident that we will create a distinct synergy together.”

Tata Power is a leather clean energy generation and also the country’s largest integrated power company. They have also developed India’s first ever 4000 MW Ultra Mega Power Project in Gujarat.

MG Motors India currently have two cars in their lineup, out of which one is electric. The MG eZS rivals versus Hyundai Kona and Tata Nexon EV. It is powered by 44.5 kWh Lithium ion battery with 141 BHP of power and 353 NM of torque. Claimed range on a single changer is 340 kms with 80% of the battery being filled up by DC fast charger in an hour.

It comes with 5 years and unlimited kms warranty with 5 years of RSA and 8 years and 1.5 Lakh kms warranty on battery. MG launched eZS on January 23 and since then it has been doing good numbers. Some of the top features of electric SUV are:
