The month of August 2018 has seen a shifting trend in car sales where the market rulers have seen a slight decline in sales with many other established brands coming up with the capability to challenge these big players.So here are the top 10 highest selling cars in India in 2018 August.
1. Maruti Suzuki Alto
Alto registered sale of 22,237 units in the month of August 2018.This helped Alto to regain it’s No. 1 spot once again.Alto’s sales has declined by 5% from July to August 2018.Alto’s mileage is one of the reasons for it’s high sales figures over the years.
2. Maruti Suzuki Dzire
Maruti Suzuki Dzire which remained at the top spot for couple of months has seen a decline in sales by 14% from July 2018.The total units of Dzire sold in August 2018 were 21,990.The new-generation Maruti Dzire launched in 2017 was a revolutionary product of MSIL which further strengthened it’s position in the Indian market.
3. Maruti Suzuki Swift
Maruti Suzuki’s Swift hatchback which is based on New Dzire was launched at Auto Expo 2018 in February.Maruti’s Swift registered a total sales of 19,115 in August 2018 therefore making it the 3rd most highest selling car in the month of August.
4. Maruti Baleno
Another Maruti hatchback is in the top selling car list and that is Maruti’s Baleno.Maruti Baleno’s sales have been very much consistent and have made it to the top 5 list for a few months now.The total units of Baleno sold in the August 2018 were around 17,000.
5. Maruti WagonR
The 5th Maruti vehicle which dominated the August sales is Maruti WagonR.WagonR serves both private and commercial purposes and this is one of the reasons for high sales figures of WagonR every month.13,658 units of WagonR were sold in August 2018.
6. Maruti Vitara Brezza
Vitara Brezza,the highest selling SUV in August 2018 and passed the milestone of 300,000 sales in a span of just 28 months.A total of 13,271 units of Brezza were sold in August.
7. Hyundai i10 Grand
The first Hyundai car on this list is the Grand i10.Grand i10 received certain minor updates a few months back.Grand i10 is also due for a facelift in 2019 and 11,489 units of Grand i10 were sold in the past month making it the 7th highest selling car of August.
8. Hyundai Elite i20
Next comes the Elite i20 sales have always remained between 8,000 and 13,000 units.Elite i20 Facelift was launched earlier this year with many design upgradation and also got AMT for it’s petrol unit.The total sales of Elite i20 in August was 11,475.
9. Hyundai Creta
Hyundai Creta,the premium SUV,is dominating the SUV segment since it’s birth in India in July 2018.It got update in may 2018 in the form of many new features add-on along with certain design updates,which received more than 50,000 bookings in less than 4 months.The total units of Creta sold in August in India were 10,394.Premium features with great looks places Creta in the list of Top 10 highest selling cars.
10. Honda Amaze
New-generation Amaze launched earlier this year provided a very tough competition to it’s closest rival,the Maruti Dzire.Amaze has accounted for 30,000+ sales in just 5 months.The total units of New Amaze 2018 sold in August were 9,644.
